SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Family members are offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest in the shooting death of Victor Vega.On May 28, 2016, San Diego Police officers responding to a shooting in the 8300 block of Brookhaven Road in the Skyline area found Vega lying on the street with gunshot wounds. Officers and medics began life-saving measures, but Vega died at the scene. 398

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Foreign ambassadors from around the world made their way to San Diego to visit the border and see how the US handles security Monday. Rolling down a gravel road, at the US-Mexico border, a van carried several foreign ambassadors to the US. The group, part of more than 30, came to San Diego for the State Department’s “Experience America Program.” Monday’s stop – a 14-mile stretch of newly constructed primary and secondary border wall just east of Otay Mesa. As the ambassadors approached, work was being done in the hope of finishing the project by January. “Today we’ve been told how you are protecting the US-Mexico border,” said Javlon Vahobov, Uzbekistan Ambassador to the United States.Like the Uzbekistan Ambassador, this is their first time to California. Border issues top of mind in his home country. “For a country that is located in the heart of central Asia, and surrounded by all 5 central Asian countries- including Afghanistan.”Agents describing how they protect the border, from the construction of the walls, to agents and technology. “Struggling with smuggling of narcotics, fighting trafficking persons. Those issues that have been shared today are very accurate, accurate for the region, for Uzbekistan itself,” said Vahobov. The border trip is just part of the diplomats’ visit to San Diego. “Tunnels are being digged and drugs transported and that’s a real threat for American people I think,” said Andris Teikmanis, Ambassador of Latvia to the United States.Teikmanis said he was also anxious to hear more about innovation taking place in San Diego. “Learning about biotechnology, and university and different kinds of businesses and culture present here in San Diego.” 1723

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Hundreds of veterans who bravely served our country reunited this week in San Diego.It was the first Midway Class Reunion, also known as the Three Sisters Reunion.Veterans who served on the USS Midway, USS Coral Sea, and USS Franklin D. Roosevelt were invited to attend. In addition to touring the ship veterans were able to look at commemorative books from their deployments. “They get to meet others, they get to swap sea stories as we say in the Navy, get to swap sea stories with their friends and anyone willing to listen!” said a USS Midway Museum volunteer. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Higher than usual tide will crash along San Diego County's shores this weekend as king tides roll into the coast.King tides are expected to pound San Diego's coastline between Jan. 10 to 12 and again Feb. 8 and 9. The naturally occurring high tide happens when there is an alignment of the gravitational pull between the sun and moon, according to the California King Tides Project.While the outcome produces amazing imagery and scenes of ocean water splashing over shorelines, it can be hazardous at times. King tides during stormy weather have the potential to cause damage or flooding to coastal communities.FORECAST: Latest 10News weather forecast for San Diego CountyOutside of bad weather, locals should still be careful when getting close to the high tides. Tides can also take a toll on areas of San Diego's coast experiencing erosion.Saturday, king tides are expected to bring tides as high as 7-feet in the morning, according to tidal charts. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Dozens of people came out to see a country music concert at Moonshine Beach in Pacific Beach Thursday night.The concert was scheduled before the Borderline Bar and Grill shooting in Thousand Oaks Thursday night.  Brodie Stewart was opening for Colt Ford.Country Music Stewart told 10News ahead of the show he would hold a moment of silence for the victims of Borderline during his show. He also said proceeds from his merchandise sales would also be donated to victim’s families.“It’s hard to talk about because it’s so close for our friends and the country music community,” Stewart said. “It’s been devastating.”Becky Williams, a long-time country music fan, said it’s unfortunate that it was the second attack in a country music venue in just a little over a year.  The Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas in October 2017, was the deadliest attack by a lone gunman in America.  Despite the repeated attacks, Williams said that she didn’t think twice about attending the concert Thursday night.“Heck no, country music is my life,” Williams told 10News.Survivors from the Las Vegas shooting said the Borderline shooting reopened old wounds and churned up former emotions.“I still haven’t been able to really cope with it, and it brought that back up to the surface,” said Kyle Hurd, who survived the Las Vegas shooting.Others shared the same sentiment, saying it was the best place anyone part of the country music could be.“We love that we can get together and mourn together and we understand each other,” Kimberly Burroughs said. 1578
