FORT PIERCE, Fla. — Parents of students at a Florida school are concerned after cell phone video shared on social media showed a Sheriff's deputy body-slamming a sixth-grade student outside of school in Fort Piece, Florida.The 15-second video shows a the school resource deputy at Lincoln Park Academy run after a sixth grade student outside the school Tuesday afternoon and slam him on the grass. Another video then shows the student in handcuffs walking away.According to an incident report, the confrontation between the student and deputy occurred on April 9. The student, who was not identified, had already been suspended from school for being disruptive in a classroom. After he was sent to the Dean's office, he report says he continued being disruptive while waiting for his parents to come pick him up. 824

Hair Club for Men founder Sy Sperling has died in Florida. Sperling became famous in the 1980s for his ubiquitous commercials featuring before and after photos of his clients, ending with him proclaiming “I'm not only the Hair Club president but I'm also a client" as he showed a photo of his previously bald self. Sperling began his business in New York City before taking it national. His commercials were even spoofed on the “Tonight” show and on “Saturday Night Live.” He sold the business for million in 2000. I.M. Pei, the Chinese born architect who was best known for designing the courtyard to the Louvre in Paris, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and the Kennedy Library in Boston, has died at the age of 102, the New York Times confirmed. The cause of Pei's death has not been announced. Pei moved to the United States at age 22, and learned from renowned architects such as Le Corbusier. Pei's first professional design was built in Atlanta in 1949. It was a simple mixed-used facility, which was torn down in 2013. In 1964, Pei was picked by John F. Kennedy's family to design his presidential library. The library ended up taking nearly 15 years to complete. In the 1981, Pei's design of the Louvre's pyramid courtyard opened to the public. During his career, he won many awards, including being awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by George H.W. Bush in 1992. Pei was preceded in death by his wife Eileen of 70 years. 946

It’s where my heart is.”Talley of Duck’s Donuts loves Dayton so much that he got a tattoo to represent his hometown. Less than two days after the shooting, he’s giving in a time of need. “We’re going to take some donuts over to the local hospitals, to the nurses and doctors, who have over seen these victims,” he said.Not all victims, however, were hurt physically. HOUSTON, Texas -- Only 536 people in the world know what it is like to be blasted from Earth and launched into space. NASA astronaut Stan Love is one of them. Love went into space for the first time in 2008, with NASA’s STS-122 mission. “It was an amazing experience,” said Love, “[of] driving out to the launch pad, strapping into the gigantic steaming hissing spaceship and having the countdown and then all the shaking and thrust of launch coming up into space and the engine shuts off and you are floating weightlessness.” Love grew up in Oregon and as a kid, with mountains all around him, he enjoyed exploring wonders on the Earth. At night though, he’d look to the sky and wondered about exploring space. So, getting there in 2009 was a dream come true, but it also inspired a bigger dream. He wanted to help more people get to space. “I look forward to a world where more people can have the experience of flying in space, and maybe a little more time to enjoy looking out the window and seeing the Earth, seeing the start,” said Love. For the past decade, he has focused on making space exploration possible for more people. “I’m working on the cockpit displays and controls and controls sticks the computer displays and the switches on the Orion spacecraft which is going to fly Artemis missions, “ Love added. The Artemis mission, expected to launch next year, will mark a big moment in space history: a moment where NASA plans on handing over travel to Earth’s lower orbit to the commercial industry. “We are to the point where American industry, not just American government, can handle that,” Love said. “There are a bunch of companies that want to start flying tourists on little suborbital hops.” Those suborbital hops are around 0,000, but as a lower-Earth orbit economy develops, those prices are expected to reduce drastically. In addition, allowing industry to focus on lower Earth’s orbit will allow NASA to focus on Artemis’ true goal of getting back to the moon, and preparing it for a possible long-term human presence. “That’s sort of the next logical step,” Love explains. “We think that in deep craters of the moon’s south pole, there is a lot of water ice and other materials that we can use to help start building a lunar economy based on the moon.”The possibilities from there are truly endless. NASA launches phase one of Artemis in 2020. By 2024, it expects to have astronauts actually heading back to the moon. 2464
