In the explanatory speech, Xi also underlined ensuring both development and security as well as the need to uphold a systematic concept in development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.
"I did go to Fujian Province. I met my then colleague Governor Xi Jinping," said Peti Lafanama, former governor of Papua New Guinea's Eastern Highlands Province. "I think the President has a heart for the people."
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks at a symposium attended by experts and representatives from the sectors to solicit opinions on the economic and social development in the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025).
