BOULDER, Colo. — A Boulder, Colorado man reached out to KMGH, furious about the work done by a contractor hired through the popular online service Thumbtack, and the thousands of dollars he claims he lost. The more he dug into the service, the angrier he became.               Keeping his windows clean is key for Larry Koenigsberg, considering he has amazing views from his home a hilltop community in Boulder."I can see a panoramic of the Flatirons, Pike's Peak when the sun rises in the morning," said Koenigsberg. "It’s like being on vacation every day between Colorado's 300 days of sunshine a year."Using popular online service Thumbtack, he hired Top Window Cleaning and paid the owner to clean several large windows, a skylight and a shower door. It wasn’t until the next day he realized they were damaged."The sun came shining in through all the south-facing windows, and I see all these scratches and I go outside and they're still dirty," said Koenigsberg.KMGH reached out to the owner of the window cleaning service. His attorney said no comment.Koenigsberg said that the owner of the company and the only employee came back to clean them again, hoping it was only dirt."So severe, it looked like a prism with all the blue and orange. Very deep the scratches," said Koenigsberg. After confronting the man, Koenigsberg said he only got another bill, not an apology. He went online to several sites to share his experience."I wanted a way of venting and letting other people know, and I put my review on there, but also I indicated that his intentions were good. I don't think that anybody sets out with intentions to scratch windows," said Koenigsberg.Koenigsberg said he learned Top Window Cleaning is not licensed in Colorado and the owner has a criminal history. He believes it was after he notified Thumbtack of the situation they closed the cleaning service's account. A Thumbtack spokesperson told KMGH: 2026

BOULDER, Colo. -- Officers across the country are getting backlash after the deaths of George Floyd and others at the hands of law enforcement. One officer wants people know there’s a human behind each badge and says now is a time for everyone to come together."To those of you who don't know me, I’m Vinnie Montez, a third generation Mexican American born in Boulder, Colorado," is how Montez starts his now viral video. In the video Montez, a Patrol Commander for the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, states "for the first time in my life, I’m deeply hurt because I have concluded people don’t think much of law enforcement."Vinnie Montez wears a badge and uniform to work, but he said those symbols don't define or speak for him.The commander with the sheriff's office also happens to be a stand-up comedian. His latest material is more commentary than comedy. His five-minute video has been viewed more than 1.3 million times since June 21."It’s really humbled me to be a voice, to create something from our perspective that is not intended to offend anyone, but just share our perspective and encourage people to get to know local law enforcement," Montez said of the post's meteoric views. That perspective includes the dark parts of the job we often don't see. Montez gets personal in his essay. He alludes to several difficult experiences from his law enforcement career."Do you know what it’s like to give CPR to a 17-year-old kid? To be covered in blood, to do everything you can to save his life but then die?" Montez asks in his video. "To go on those calls and try to remove that pain later on, it’s hard after the course of a career. I’m not the only one."Montez hopes his message will encourage communication from both law enforcement and those who they protect during this time of civil unrest. 1815

BOCA RATON, Fla. — New developments in the investigation into a Boca Raton pet store where authorities say a dead puppy and several sick puppies were found late last year. The owner of Poochie Couture was arrested on Tuesday and is facing multiple animal cruelty charges.Marc Rosenbluth, 37, has since bonded out of jail.Last November, dozens of puppies were removed from Poochie Couture by Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control, and the pet store was shut down.Rosenbluth surrendered some of the dogs after Boca Raton Police and Animal Care and Control said they found a dead 3-month-old puppy, along with several other sick animals."Had we not gotten there with Boca P.D., most likely the death toll would have much higher," said Dianne Sauve, the director of Palm Beach County Animal Care and ControlSauve said closing the pet store is a victory.Records show that of the 58 dogs inside the shop, investigators found the dead puppy and six french bulldogs that were sick with multiple problems. Two of them needed intensive care.Rosenbluth's arrest report said Poochie Couture lacked prevention of injury and did not assist with ongoing veterinary care."It is a shame some animals had to die in a result of this," said Kelly Evans, who called police in November, claiming Rosenbluth and his wife were not taking care of their puppies. "I am glad he is arrested now and there is some justice for the animals."Sauve said ACC likes to tell people to always adopt and don't shop. But with six pet stores open in the county, she said people will still shop.Sauve said that asking for records is key if an animal gets sick after it's been purchased."Look at the health certificates, review the medical records," Sauve said. This article was written by Miranda Christian for WPTV. 1785
