LAS VEGAS — A video of a "cowboy arrest" in Las Vegas is going viral. The video has been viewed more than 231,000 times (at the time of this writing) on Facebook and has been shared almost 6,000 times. It has also received hundreds of comments. It all started around 1:35 p.m. Dec. 11 near Sam's Town hotel-casino."I see this helicopter flying around, like right above us and so I'm like they must be doing something wrong. And right when I thought about that 18 cop cars came barreling down this road right next to the arena," said Cayden Cox, a cowboy and professional cattle roper.Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department spotted a car that was reportedly stolen and tried to stop it. The people in the car — three in total — attempted to escape, but hit a horse trailer near Horseman's Park."I'm like, 'oh shoot we need to go catch the son of a buck.' So I come running down through there and I almost knocked over this older gentleman and I felt bad but I got to them and right when I got to him but they all followed me we're like 60 guys behind us," added Cox.One of the people in the stolen car jumped a fence at the park and began running across the fairgrounds. That's when the cowboys got involved. They yelled at man to stop and threatened to lasso him if he didn't."By the time I kind of had my rope up and [the suspect] had his hands up, right when I was thinking about roping him," said Cox.According to a man who saw what happened, the alleged car thief immediately dropped to his knees and a couple of the cowboys pinned him to the ground until the police officers arrived and took him into custody. "The best part of the whole deal was one when the (police) helicopter flew over us and said 'good job Ropers!' or something like that, oh that just made our day," Cox said.Las Vegas police told KTNV that they took all three people into custody.Video courtesy of 1890
India's government said it will investigate Jet Airways' ability to fly after the struggling airline canceled several international flights. All of Jet's long-haul services — including to London, Paris and Amsterdam — were suspended from Thursday night until Friday morning, a spokesperson for the airline in New Delhi said. The spokesperson added on Friday that flights had resumed, but at least one major destination appeared to still be off the roster."Jet Airways has cancelled its operations between London and India for 12th April, 2019," the airline's UK office said in statement.Doubts over the future of the airline intensified when aviation minister Suresh Prabhu tweeted that his ministry would "review issues related to Jet Airways" and "take necessary steps to minimize passenger inconvenience and ensure their safety."Concerns over a possible collapse would tarnish Prime Minister Narendra Modi's pro-business credentials as Indians vote in elections that started on Thursday. The failure of a major airline would put thousands of jobs at risk.Jet Airways has already canceled thousands of domestic and international flights as planes were grounded over the non-payment of fees to aircraft leasing companies. It told the Bombay Stock Exchange Thursday that it had grounded 10 more planes due to unpaid dues.Last month the founder of Jet Airways was forced to quit as part of a government-backed bailout. 1428

In 2017, Uber unveiled a tip feature on its app to allow customers to leave their driver a tip. It turns out many customers do not leave a tip. According to a study conducted by Bharat Chandar, Uri Gneezy, John A. List, and Ian Muira with the University of Chicago, only about 16% of rides end with a tip. The study also found that 60% of Uber customers never tip, while 1% always leave a tip. List's study included 40 million trips in the cities of Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Asheville, North Carolina, and Bloomington, Indiana.List's study found the average of those who do tip is .11, about 26% of their fare. The survey found that customers were more likely to tip between 3 to 5 a.m., as well as around 6 p.m. on Fridays; that female drivers, especially younger females, were more likely to earn tips; and that 5-star drivers were twice as likely to earn a tip as a 4.75-star driver. So should you tip? That is up to you, but know that according to the 992
In the midst of a government shutdown caused by a budget battle over border security funding, President Donald Trump is telling officials and lawmakers he won't sign a bill that comes to his desk with only .3 billion allotted for border security, according to sources involved in the negotiations.A White House official said Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer did not immediately reject the offer the White House made last Saturday night, which included more than .3 billion but less than the billion Trump initially wanted. But during a call this week, Schumer informed the White House that they do not expect to accept or counteroffer the White House's proposal, a second official added. A Schumer spokesperson provided this readout of that meeting: "The Vice President came in for a discussion and made an offer. Unfortunately, we're still very far apart."Asked on Sunday if the President will sign or veto a bill that Democrats pass, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway told CNN's Dana Bash on "State of the Union" that "it depends what's in it," but added that Trump is "ready to negotiate.""He wants to make a deal on border security. Where are they now? Nancy Pelosi is in Hawaii," Conway said. "And negotiation by definition has to include both sides. He's in the -- he's in the White House. He's in Washington ready to negotiate."The President likes the .6 billion that was in the House package," Conway said. "His incoming acting chief of staff and his vice president have offered less than that as a compromise. We have heard nothing in return."As far as the type of border security Trump is looking to get funded in a deal goes, Conway did not offer specifics but told Bash that "it's anything -- it's all of the above."During his presidential campaign, Trump repeatedly insisted that Mexico would fund the wall. Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell said he will not bring a vote to the floor unless the President has endorsed it."We pushed the pause button," McConnell said the day the government was scheduled to partially close, "until the President, from whom we will need a signature, and Senate Democrats, from whom we will need votes, reach an agreement."Trump, who has remained in Washington over the Christmas holiday after canceling a vacation to his private Florida club, is scheduled to have lunch with Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham on Sunday. Graham told Bash on the same program that he hoped to end the shutdown by offering Democrats incentives to get them to vote for wall funding."Democrats are not going to give us any money for a wall, border security, without getting something themselves," Graham said.Trump's outgoing chief of staff John Kelly, who has been largely uninvolved in the shutdown negotiations, 2756
