Fans at a California softball tournament weren't happy when an official announced that the National Anthem would not be played before Friday's game, so they took matters into their own hands and started singing.The championship game between Clovis High School and Buchanan High School was the second game of the day at Fresno State's softball stadium. (KGTV) — A police pursuit that started in the South Bay ended in North County Tuesday, with the occupants in a standoff with police.The chase began just after 1 p.m. in National City in the 2300 block of E. 8th St. with a report of a suicidal woman in a vehicle, according to National City Police. Officers arrived to find the car leaving the area with a passenger in the back seat of a Nissan sedan.Officers tried to pull the female driver over, but she refused to stop. She continued onto northbound Interstate 805 and then northbound I-15 in the carpool lanes, police said.Sky10 was live over the standoff this afternoon:CHP officers deployed a spike strip in Rancho Bernardo, which the driver hit while traveling about 70 miles per hour. After losing one tire, she slowed to about 10 mph and continued into Escondido, eventually stopping in a parking lot in the 700 block of E. Valley Parkway.Officers surrounded her vehicle but she refused communicate with police. Officers at the scene said she was seen taking pills in the vehicle and stabbing herself.The passenger exited the car shortly after 2 p.m. Soon after, the driver exited carrying a dog. The driver then handed the dog over to police and was taken into custody, ending the 10-minute standoff.She was transported to a nearby hospital. Police have not said what charges, if any, she faces. Fast food sandwich chain Subway expects to close about 500 stores in North America this year.But it's also hoping to open as many as 1,000 stores overseas.The company has 44,000 locations globally -- more than any other retailer. The National Retail Federation put its US store count at nearly 27,000 as of 2016, compared to 17,500 for Yum Brands, which runs Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and KFC, and the 14,000 locations for McDonald's.The company said Wednesday it expects stores to close after it rolls out a revitalization plan, announced last summer, that will require franchise owners to invest more in their operations. All Subway stores are franchise owned, rather than owned by the company. The plans to revamp locations include adding self-service kiosks, more comfortable seating and Wi-Fi and USB charging ports. In February, Subway also announced plans for a loyalty program to win back customers and stem slumping sales.Store closings are new for Subway. It had a net loss of more than 350 US stores in 2016, the first year in the company's history that it trimmed rather than increased its number of stores. ENCINITAS, Calif. (KGTV) -- The San Diego Sheriff's Office is investigating an incident involving Phil Graham, a candidate to represent the 76th district in the California Assembly. Niki Burgan filed the battery case with the Sheriff's Office Sunday, May 20.  She accuses Graham of forcibly kissing her at an Encinitas Bar. Burgan told 10News that it happened at 1st Street Bar on S. Coast Hwy 101 on the evening of Sunday, May 13, into the early morning of Monday, May 14 as the bar was closing. She said that Graham had initially been flirting, even mentioning that he was running for office and asked whether she would vote for him. After finding out that he was a Republican candidate she said, no she was a Democrat. At some point, she says his talk turned into aggression and Graham grabbed her hair, pulled her in, and started to kiss her. She said she had to push him off. Burgan also said she remembers that Graham had so much to drink that night that she had to help him sign his tab. The next morning Burgan says she learned that he was related to former Governor Pete Wilson and she was worried about repercussions. That's why she didn't file right charges right away.  1259

FALLBROOK, Calif. (KGTV) - A man has been arrested in connection with the Fallsbrea fire that broke out in Fallbrook on Sunday, according to the San Diego Sheriff's department.The brush fire started in the area of Ramona Drive and Pala Road around 12:15 p.m.When a deputy arrived on scene to investigate the smoke, the deputy saw a white man walking away from what appeared to be the point of origin of the fire, a press release states. The man was identified as 34-year-old Brad Arands.Arands was disheveled and his behavior was suspicious, deputies said. Arands was detained until the fire was controlled and a further investigation could be conducted.The fire burned approximately five acres and threatened numerous homes. One outbuilding was destroyed. The fire was 100 percent contained by about 4 p.m. Arands was arrested on suspicion of felony arson and booked at the Vista Detention Facility.   950
