(AP) — Authorities arrested a man suspected of shooting the security guard of a news crew that was robbed while covering the Oakland teachers strike, according to a statement by the CBS affiliate.KPIX said a reporter and a photographer were gathering interviews Sunday about the strike at the Oakland Library when a car pulled up and the driver pulled a gun, demanding their camera. OMAHA, Nebraska — Just before 5 p.m local time Monday, Omaha Police were called to the scene of a traffic incident involving a school bus near an intersection in North Omaha. Police later confirmed the boy, 8-year-old Haji Mohamed of Omaha, had died. According to a report from OPD received Monday night, "the investigation revealed that a Student Transportation of America school bus had come to a stop along Sprague Street just east of 22nd Street at a designated student drop off location."After several students disembarked the bus, the bus driver continued her route westbound on Sprague Street," the report states. "As the bus was traveling between 22nd Street and 23rd Street, an 8-year old male child who had just disembarked the bus, attempted to run across Sprague Street from north to south. As soon as the child entered the roadway, he was struck by the bus."The boy was transported by emergency personnel to Nebraska Medicine in extremely critical condition. Shortly after arriving at the hospital, the boy was pronounced dead, the OPD release states.  Early OPD reports indicated the elementary-aged boy was transported with "extremely critical injuries" to Nebraska Medicine, said Sgt. OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - A car reportedly flew off a freeway in North San Diego County, causing a chain reaction collision.A 20-year-old woman driving a Buick reportedly careened off westbound SR-78 near El Camino Real, through the fence separating the freeway from the Vista Way, and collided head-on with a Ford Thunderbird being driven by a 47-year-old woman traveling eastbound.The collision set off a chain reaction, sideswiping a Nissan van towing a small boat. The boat then came loose from its trailer and flew into the westbound lanes of Vista Way, striking a Toyota Prius, being driven by a 43-year-old man, and a Chrysler 300 being driven by a 95-year-old man.The driver and a male passenger in the Buick both sustained major injuries and were airlifted to Scripps La Jolla hospital. Another male passenger sitting in the back seat of the Buick received minor injuries and was taken to Palomar Medical Center.The driver of the Thunderbird was slightly injured as well, but not taken to a hospital. No other injuries were reported.Police are investigating what led to the Buick driving off the freeway, but said they do not suspect alcohol or drugs to have been a factor. 1216

OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - The United States Department of Veterans Affairs is being sued in federal court over an Oceanside doctor who is accused of sexually assaulting multiple patients. According to the lawsuit filed this week, the VA is being sued for alleged negligence. Dr. Edgar Manzanera is criminally accused of sexually assaulting five female patients but has pleaded not guilty. One of his accusers who is a veteran is a plaintiff in the new federal suit. According to the complaint, she claims that the Oceanside clinic failed to warn her that several patients had already complained about the doctor's alleged inappropriate sexual contact. According to the court documents, the "…VA did not investigate these prior complaints, or suspend Manzanera from evaluating women for VA."In an email to 10News, a VA spokesperson wrote, “VA does not typically comment on pending litigation.”Dr. Manzanera’s criminal trial starts in September. 952
