WASHINGTON — The Trump campaign says it has filed lawsuits Wednesday in Georgia, Pennsylvania and Michigan, and will ask for a recount in Wisconsin.Democratic challenger Joe Biden is projected to win Wisconsin with a roughly 20,000 vote lead. "Not a single Republican has been able to observe these (absentee) ballots,” Giuliani said, adding speculatively, "Joe Biden could have been able to vote 5,000 times, we don’t know."With about 84 percent of the ballots counted in Pennsylvania, Trump leads Biden by almost 300,000 votes.The Trump campaign said Wednesday they are also seeking to intervene in a state case at the Supreme Court that deals with whether ballots received up to three days after the election can be counted, deputy campaign manager Justin Clark says.In the Michigan suit, election officials are asked to stop absent voter counting boards from counting because they are allegedly not complying with a state statute that 1 election inspector from each major political party be present during counting, according to the lawsuit.It also asks that observers be allowed to view surveillance video of ballot boxes that were in "remote and unattended" locations.In response to news of the lawsuit, demonstrators went to a building in downtown Detroit trying to get inside to challenge votes being counted. Hundreds of challengers are already inside the TCF Center, according to WXYZ in Detroit, and those outside are not being let in. The Detroit Health Department says the building is at capacity, and police are enforcing those capacity rules. Giuliani hinted the Trump campaign may bring a larger lawsuit about issues with observing ballot counting. "We're going to consider a federal lawsuit. Quite possibly we'll do a national lawsuit and reveal the corruption of the Democratic party," he said. WASHINGTON (AP) — For the first time in Marine Corps history, women are attending a previously male-only combat training course in California.Marine Capt. Joshua Pena said 40 female Marine students checked-in Tuesday to the Marine Combat Training Battalion at Camp Pendleton.The move comes at least seven months after senior Marine leaders said they were considering the change, amid criticism that much of the early training excludes women.The entry-level course is for Marines who've finished boot camp and aren't assigned to infantry jobs. It lasts about a month and involves basic combat training, including patrol and convoy operations, marksmanship and the use of grenade launchers and machine guns.Pena said the female Marines will be fully integrated with the men, and that their inclusion triggered no changes to the course instruction. He said that eventually as many as 1,700 women would go through the combat training there each year.Currently Marine boot camp on the West Coast is only for male recruits. Women attend boot camp at Parris Island in South Carolina, where they are separated from the men for portions of the training. Congress members have been critical of that policy, and the Corps has been reviewing it.Until now, half of the Marine Corps' male recruits would go through their initial training on the West Coast where they had no female colleagues. A key reason for the limits is the shortage of female recruits. Patrick Valenzuela was charged Wednesday with domestic violence and several other related charges. In October of 2018, Valenzuela pleaded guilty to a separate domestic abuse charge, admitting to hitting his girlfriend at a restaurant in Carlsbad. (KGTV) - Several schools in the Vista Unified School District are returning back to virtual learning for two weeks after positive COVID-19 cases were identified.The district reopened for in-person learning at normal capacity, also known as Vista Classic, on October 20th. According to the district’s website, 17 cases have been reported since October 20th.District Superintendent, Dr. Matt Doyle, said Vista Classic and Vista Virtual were designed to work together so that there is the flexibility to move back and forth.Mission Vista High School, Vista High School, Madison Middle School, Roosevelt Middle School, and Rancho Minerva Middle School are also back to Vista Virtual due to positive cases.A class of 28 students and one teacher at T.H.E. Learning Academy Elementary school is also under quarantine after one positive case was reported.Last week the school unanimously approved a plan that would close down some middle and high schools for two weeks when positive cases are reported.The closures would happen if one school has two or more positive cases at the whole time, the entire school would switch back to Vista Virtual for two weeks. If three secondary schools have one positive case each, all three will return to Vista Virtual for two weeks.“I think two is tough; that doesn’t give us a lot of confidence that it won’t close down again,” said Dolly Goulart, a parent of a Mission Vista High School student who has been back to virtual learning.“I do appreciate that they’re doing trying to get classic families back in. They gave families a choice over the summer.”Goulart said her son’s transition back to Vista Virtual went smoothly.“From my perspective, it seemed perfectly seamless. He did fine pivoting back,” said Goulart. “He’s about a week into his two-week virtual pivot.”“We meet regularly with representatives from the S.D. This means that while we will be following social distancing procedures, student seating arrangements will be less than six feet apart.”There have been mixed reactions to the reopening plan from teachers and parents; some like Goulart are happy with the plan, while others call for revisions.“Why are we allowing kids not to social distance within our classrooms?” asked Keri Avila, the Vista Teachers Association president. “When we talk about keeping businesses open, when we talk about returning to some sort of normal, this takes that all away.”Avila said, in some cases, students are in crowded classrooms without enough safety measures in place.She’s calling on the district to make changes to the current reopening plan so that schools can remain open.“We hope to work with our district to create a system to keep our schools open, not one that keeps pivoting back to virtual,” said Avila.Two positive COVID-19 cases have also been reported at Alta Vista High School, but ABC 10News has not been able to confirm if the school has closed down. 3527
