A bus aide with Mesa, Arizona Public Schools has been arrested for the sexual abuse of a preteen boy with autism. Mesa police report that on Tuesday they arrested 18-year-old Samantha Rose Poirier. They say she reported to them that the preteen boy tried to kiss her and asked to see her "girl parts." Police say the victim, who is reported to have the mentality of a 7-year-old, gave a much different story. He says Poirier grabbed both sides of his face and kissed him, then made him touch her breast under her shirt. Police report that they reviewed the bus video and audio recordings, which allegedly show Poirier grabbing the boy’s face and kissing him as the boy described. They say the video also shows Poirier facing the victim and nodding as the victim pulls her shirt down and reaches into it. Poirier reportedly threatened the boy by saying they would both be in trouble if he told anyone about the "kiss and touch." Poirier was arrested for sexual abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. In a statement, Mesa Public Schools said Poirier was hired in August 2017 as a part-time bus aide. She was placed on administrative leave Monday, and dismissed from employment on Wednesday."Mesa Public Schools' first priority is the safety and security of our students," Executive Director Helen Hollands said. "On Friday, March 23, transportation department administration contacted Mesa Police Department when they learned of possible inappropriate behavior between Samantha Poirier and a student. A high-speed police pursuit has ended in a Phoenix neighborhood as police continue to search the area for at least one suspect.Police say they were following a possible stolen vehicle and attempted to pull the driver over Tuesday when the suspect refused to stop.Helicopter video showed the white SUV in the Biltmore area around noon, going the wrong way in traffic and driving on light rail tracks near Central Avenue and Thomas Road to avoid stoplights. Video from helicopter showed what appeared to be stop sticks deployed on the vehicle that caused a tire to blow near a neighborhood in west Phoenix. The vehicle was then seen driving through multiple front yards and sidewalks around 12:30 p.m. The occupants of the car bailed in front of a home on foot. Police say one woman, the passenger in the vehicle, was taken into custody. The male driver is still missing and believed to be hiding in the neighborhood.Police say the male suspect is believed to be responsible for at least three carjackings. During one of the carjackings Tuesday, a Phoenix police officer tried to intervene and fired shots toward the suspect. A Las Vegas family watched in horror from a Florida hotel room as their home was broken into Friday.From 2,000 miles away, Kenneth Kochman woke up to a heart-stopping notification on his phone."We got our Ring camera system up and we actually saw these guys burglarize our home live," says Kochman.From their hotel room in Orlando, Kenneth and his fiancée Melinda Piccirilli watched in disbelief as two men walked around the backyard of their home.The video clearly shows one of the burglars using a rod to knock down the surveillance camera just before breaking in.The family was concerned that the crooks were inside and may have harmed their three Chihuahuas."I knew they were trapped in a little area so if they wanted to get them or take them, or [possibly] get mad at them, take them or hurt them; you don't know what people are going to do," Piccirilli said.The two got back to Las Vegas on Sunday – thankful to find their dogs unharmed. Melinda immediately jumped on social media to spread the word of what happened.Her Facebook post quickly went viral in her Las Vegas community."Last night it was 40,000 views and just a few minutes ago it was 65,000 views," says Piccirilli.Melinda said the response online from folks in Summerlin, a subsection of Las Vegas, truly shows how a community can come together."The community is all here with us and wants to help us find who these people were," says Piccirilli. A convent in Livonia, Michigan, is mourning the loss of 13 nuns to the coronavirus. The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Felix of Cantalice, or Felician Sisters, lost 12 nuns to the virus between April 10 (Good Friday) and May 12, according to the Global Sisters Report publication.A 13th nun succumbed to the illness in June. Additionally, 18 sisters at the convent contracted the deadly novel coronavirus."We couldn't contain the grief and the sorrow and the emotional impact," Sr. Noel Marie Gabriel, director of clinical health services for the Felician Sisters of North America, told a reporter with Global Sisters Report. "We went through the motions of doing what we had to do, but that month was like a whole different way of life. That was our most tragic time.
