SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The FBI is asking for the public’s help identifying the man who reportedly robbed a San Diego bank. According to the agency, the man robbed a U.S. Bank located inside a Vons grocery store at 665 Saturn Boulevard. The suspect reportedly approached the teller and made a verbal demand for cash, telling the employee he had a gun. The man made off with an unspecified amount of cash. Pictures show the man wearing a hooded Padres sweatshirt and mirrored sunglasses. He is described as a white or possibly Middle Eastern man in his late 20s or early 30s. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The California Highway Patrol is investigating following a crash involving a military Humvee Thursday night.The crash happened on eastbound Interstate 8 just west of Dunbar Lane. Five vehicles were involved in the crash.As a result of the incident, traffic was backed up on the interstate for miles. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation are looking for two women they say walked away from the Custody to Community Transitional Reentry Program.The department says, while conducting a room search Thursday, staff discovered a cell phone in a room shared by Karen Flores, 26, and Gisselle Rivas, 20.A short while later, it was discovered that both women removed their ankle monitors and walked away from the facility.Flores is a Hispanic female, 5 feet, 1 inch tall, weighing 168 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Authorities say she was serving more than two years at the facility for second-degree burglary and grand theft.Rivas is a Hispanic female, 5 feet, 1 inch tall, weighing 148 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The majority of residents at Reo Vista Healthcare Center in Paradise Hills have COVID-19, according to officials with the facility.A total of 112 residents have tested positive, according to the facility’s administrator Curtis White. 40 staff members also tested positive for COVID-19. White confirmed 14 residents have passed away. Of that number, five died in local hospitals.The facility holds 135 residents.Juanita Gomez was one of the residents who tested positive. Her son told Team 10 she passed away July 1st.The state strike team assisted in expediting testing for residents and staff, White said. They have visited the facility three times.Cesar Noriega’s 90-year-old mother also tested positive. She is currently in the hospital dealing with COVID-19 and other health related issues. “She’s not doing well. She’s in a lot of pain,” Noriega said. Noriega said he urged early testing at the facility, but his pleas for help went ignored. He is now trying to figure out where his mother can get care after she is released from the hospital.“I’ve gone through elation, through depression, to anger… this is almost on a daily basis,” Noriega said.White said “most of the individuals with COVID are experiencing mild or no symptoms.” 13 residents and 23 staff members have recovered.“Our top priority remains the health and well-being of everyone in our facility,” White said. 1409

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Students distracted and bitten in class at Madison Senior High in Clairemont are hoping for some help to make the mosquitoes go away.The west side of campus, against Doliva Dr., is where people told 10News they were bitten. The same area houses special needs classes. 10News was sent two pictures, one of a student, with special needs, whose calf was bitten by a mosquito, and another of a dead mosquito. It appears to be black with white spots or stripes."It was really bad and it was burning and everything," Junior Arryonna said. She was bitten in art class Thursday."I feel like my ankle starts itching so I'm like what's on my ankle, so I look and I got two bumps on the side of my ankle," she said reaching down to scratch. She said she's allergic, making the bites that much worse.The school district says the first report of a mosquito bite came mid-September, around the first time Aryonna said she was bit. Pest Control came out twice and deployed an organic compound in the drain to kill mosquito larvae. The County was scheduled to come out next week, but after 10News called, they showed up Friday afternoon, according to the district. 1176
