SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The San Diego Police Department is looking for four instruments that were stolen from the San Diego Junior Theatre over the weekend.Junior Theater Executive Director James Saban said two guitars and two bass guitars were taken sometime Friday night or Saturday morning.They are described as a white Fender Stratocaster with a checkered strap, a red Epiphone archtop guitar, a seafoam and white Fender bass guitar and a cream Fender Mustang bass guitar.“It was my prized possession, my baby,” said Oliver Davis of his Fender Stratocaster. “So finding out it was stolen was a bummer.”Davis plays the guitar on stage as part of his character. After discovering it was missing Saturday morning, he said he and the other musicians had to rush to find replacements so they could perform their matinee.“Everyone was getting loaned instruments,” he said.The theater has filed a police report but the instruments have not yet been found.Anyone with information can call the San Diego Police Department at 619-531-2000. 1036

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department says it paid out nearly million in overtime throughout the course of protests and riots in the county.According to the department, ,862,798 was paid out from May 28 through June 4, 2020.The department said more than 24,000 hours were worked throughout the protests.The figure includes overtime for sworn deputies and support staff. They added that, throughout the protests and riots, no one had time off, and that all vacation time was canceled during the unrest.The news comes after rioters set fire to several buildings and vehicles in La Mesa in late May.Several stores were also looted, including Walmart, Target, Vons, and other stores and shopping centers. 737

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The number of San Diegans who spend at least 90 minutes on their daily commute grew nearly 15% over the last decade, according to a recent analysis.Apartment List reports as San Diego County's workforce grew 10.8% from 2009 to 2017, "super commuters" (commuting 90 minutes or more one way) grew 14.9%. Overall though, the share of San Diego's workforce who endure a super commute is only 0.1%.The study showed the trend is much worse in other California counties like San Francisco (110.4% growth since 2009) and Los Angeles (up 22.3% since 2009).Other areas of the state located just outside San Francisco also saw large increases, like Contra Costa and Alameda Counties, which saw a 101.8% and 126.5% increases in super commute workforce, respectively.Rural counties were also more likely to endure a long commute, like Mono County, Calif., which saw a 1166.7% increase."Beyond the super commuters who drive from distant exurbs to work in the downtown offices of pricey superstar cities, we also see high rates of super commuting in some counties that are much closer to the urban core," the study said. "This is evidence of the large number of super commuters who rely on public transit. Super commuting is also common in certain pockets of rural America, particularly those with active drilling and mining industries."Extraction and construction jobs were the most likely to have the longest commute times.
