Carnival Cruise Line is canceling most U.S. sailings through the end of this year.It's the latest sign that the cruise industry's recovery from the coronavirus pandemic could still be many months away.Carnival says it's canceling sailings from all ports except its home ports of Miami and Port Canaveral, Florida, but it stressed that it still might not sail from those ports in November and December.Carnival's announcement came the day after the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention extended a ban on large cruises in U.S. waters through Oct. 31.Carnival isn't the only cruise liner canceling trips because of COVID-19 - Royal Caribbean and Norwegian also announced they are canceling cruises.Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, which operates the Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, announced that it was suspending all its cruises through Nov. 30."The Company will continue to work in tandem with global government and public health authorities and its Healthy Sail Panel expert advisors to take all necessary measures to protect its guests, crew, and the communities visited," officials said in the release.On Tuesday, Royal Caribbean Group, owners of Royal Caribbean International, Azamara, Celebrity Cruises, and Silversea Cruises, said in a press release that they were extending their suspension through Nov. 30.However, they do plan to move forward with their Hong Kong cruises, which are scheduled for November, the company said in the release.Royal also added that Celebrity Cruises and Azamara had suspended their entire 2020/21 winter programs. A vacation home to Leo Carrillo from the TV show "The Cisco Kid." Once a massive ranch, now transformed into an 1800 acre city park in Carlsbad. Mick Calarco, Project Manager with the City of Carlsad calls the park a "manifestation of Carrillo's childhood dreams." Million- dollar homes now surround the park, but it was once a sprawling and working ranch with livestock and wild animals. Peacocks still roam the property, original descendants of the birds Carrillo bought for the ranch."You can truly lose yourself out here," said Calarco. The old adobe buildings have been beautifully restored to their original splendor. Carrillo bought the property in 1937. His famous friends, including Clark Gable would often visit the ranch. In every building you can see Carrillo's vision for preserving early ranch architecture. Adobe was a central theme in Leo's remembrance of of his childhood ranches. After Carrillo's daughter, Tony, left the estate, the buildings began to fall apart. The City of Carlsbad acquired the remaining 10.5-acre ranch in 1977. It now serves as a park to educate and advocate for ranch preservation and restoration. The park is open daily 9 A.M.- 5 p.m. 1359

CARLSBAD, Calif. (KGTV) — Prosecutors Wednesday say two transients accused of a deadly home invasion robbery this week stabbed the victim 50 times in the face, neck, and back.Ian Bushee, 37, and Malissa James, 26, are both accused of breaking into a home in the 1800 block of Outrigger Lane just after midnight Monday. During the break-in the victim, identified as 63-year-old Marjorie Gawitt, was stabbed multiple times.Gawitt was still able to call 911 to report the incident and was conscious and breathing when police arrived. She was taken to Scripps La Jolla Hospital, where she died of her injuries.RELATED: Police identify suspects in deadly Carlsbad stabbing, burglaryBushee and James fled the scene in Gawitt's vehicle, according to police. The vehicle was found in San Marcos and the two were arrested in the 4800 block of Park Drive later Monday.Each has been charged with homicide, burglary, conspiracy, and auto theft. Bushee was also charged with accessory after the fact. James also also charged with torture. The pair was already on probation in San Bernardino for residential burglary.Both defendants pleaded not guilty of all charges.Bail was not set for Bushee or James, as they were determined to be a threat to the community.Both face the death penalty. A readiness hearing is scheduled for March 21, and a preliminary hearing is set for March 27. 1377
