Larry Nassar has been moved from a federal prison in Tucson, Ariz. after his lawyer claims Nassar was assaulted in prison.The disgraced former Michigan State and USA Gymnastics doctor was moved to a Federal Transfer Center in Oklahoma City, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. It's a place where inmates stay while waiting to be transferred to another prison.Nassar pleaded guilty to multiple charges of sexual assault in November 2017 after being charged with molesting seven girls, all but one of whom were gymnasts. Those sexual assaults happened at Michigan State University.In a filing by his attorneys, Nassar claims that he was abused in prison and also mentions the time when he was charged at by one of the victims' father in court."Dr. Nassar reports, that in late May he was physically attacked in federal prison within a few hours of being placed in general population," the court filing reads.  953

The need this year, the commissioner says, is like a tsunami.“In a typical year, the Salvation Army will serve about 52 million meals, for example. So far this year, we’re well over 110 million meals. The numbers have shot up astronomically,” Hodder said.The organization has provided 1.5 million more nights of shelter in addition to 900,000 instances of emotional and spiritual support.“As eviction moratoriums start to expire, as corporate capabilities to support people with furloughs or reduced hours decline, we’re anticipating a 155 % increase in the number of people coming to the Salvation Army for Christmas assistance,” Hodder said.And, with the coronavirus pandemic, the Salvation Army decided to get creative. (AP) - Lake Elsinore’s Walker Canyon, site of a magnificent super bloom of poppies, reopened Monday after “Disneyland size crowds” overwhelmed the small Southern California city, creating what officials called a “miserable situation.” Social media photos showed heavy traffic on Interstate 15 near Lake Street and Nichols Road Sunday, where many visitors stopped and parked illegally to enjoy the flower fields. The California Highway Patrol issued a Sig Alert Monday and shut down the Lake Street offramp to control the situation. Despite the start of the work week, the number of visitors remained high Monday due to spring break, according to Nicole Dailey, assistant to the Lake Elsinore city manager. Dailey was not able to estimate the amount of people traveling to the flower fields. Four people were hurt over the weekend, Dailey said.
