KOKOMO — A central Indiana woman has a word of warning for other women after finding something strange on a feminine product she just recently purchased."It's really gross," Kimberly Fisher said after opening the package of her Tampax Pearl tampon and noticing the string was discolored."I thought that was odd so I go to look at the tip of it and I noticed that it was also a weird and dingy color and so I pushed it out of the applicator and it had nothing but black mold all over it," Fisher said.Fisher said she bought the new box of tampons in Kokomo, Indiana, last week — two days before making the discovery. Fisher said she immediately became concerned wondering if other tampons she already used looked the same way."The fear of what could happen, the fear of did my last one have that and I did not know," she said.Fisher said she hopes by sharing her story it will serve as a warning for other women and girls to check their tampons before using them."We need to spread awareness because this is something you never thought about," Fisher said. "I never thought the horror story of finding mold on a tampon."Fisher shared her experience on Facebook in a post that has now gone viral with more than 32,000 shares.Procter & Gamble, the manufacturer of Tampax, said they have completed a thorough manufacturing investigation and can assure consumers no issues were identified at that site or through the transportation process to the retailer. LAKELAND, Fla. — While a 10-year-old boy is still recovering after a dangerous fall from a zip line at the Urban Air Adventure Park in September, his mother is warning others. Kimberly Barnes filed a lawsuit against against the company that owns the Lakeland, Florida, facility, UATP Management, on Monday. She says employees were negligent and didn’t fasten her son into the harness on the "Sky Ride" properly. Her legal team also alleges a design flaw with the harness. In a press conference on Tuesday, Barnes and her attorney Steven Capriati, with Morgan and Morgan, addressed the media. The mother recalled when she got the frantic phone call on Sept. 1. “He had fallen, there was a very high fall,” Barnes said. The lawsuit says her son fell more than 20 feet. Video from inside the facility shows the 10-year-old falling into a hard concrete floor. He was airlifted and suffered serious injuries, including several broken ribs, a collapsed lung and head injuries. Two months later, Barnes says her son is still struggling to go to school and fighting for normalcy. “He is doing the best he can he wants to have his normal life back and have his normal routine, but it’s a day by day process for him,” she said.In a 911 call obtained Tuesday, two employees called for help saying the boy had fallen off the zip line and needed an ambulance.Although awake and lucid, the boy can be heard in the background of the call screaming in pain. He's heard complaining of back, foot and head pain.“He is in danger and do not splint any injuries. Reassure him help is on the way,” the dispatcher says. In the lawsuit, Barnes is asking for at least ,000 in compensation to pay for medical expenses and any other ongoing issues her son may deal with.In a statement Urban Air said: 1787

In the wake of Hurricane Dorian, a lot of animals in the Bahamas are left without owners to care for them and without homes to shelter in. The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) sent a crew to the Bahamas, trying to find and save those animals that survived the Category 5 hurricane. Alex Johnson with IFAW spent days in the throes of Dorian’s aftermath.“It was apocalyptic, catastrophic, whatever you want to call it,” he describes. “It was, it was just, it was just devastating.”Johnson is part of a rescue team sent to Abaco to help stranded animals. “We have set up in Nassau a dispatch, a dispatch center, where people it's almost like a crisis hotline where we have someone getting calls from desperate pet owners looking for pets that were left behind,” he says. Johnson describes the visit as “eerie” as he walked through areas devastated by the storm.“You would just walk by these areas and just kind of get a whiff of like some foul stench,” Johnson describes. For the animals the group would find, they would classify them as being an urgent situation or not. Johnson describes a dog he encountered that needed urgent medical attention. However, soon after finding him, the dog passed away. “And that's just like the sad reality of how the situation is going,” he says.Johnson says he and his crew are trying to offer refuge. “People like me and my other teammates are there to kind of give these animals a fighting chance, because they're often forgotten and these type of situations,” Johnson says. The IFAW team says their top priority is getting animals out of the hardest-hit areas and reuniting the ones they can with their owners. IFAW says it will be on the ground as long as they’re needed. 1732
