(KGTV) - Surveillance video has recently captured multiple incidents of what appears to be a thief returning over and over to prey upon elderly residents of the Salvation Army apartment building in El Cajon.Apartment staff at the building on South Anza Street say there have been at least five robberies between October and Christmas Eve. Each appears to include the same thief."He's the lowest form of life in my book," building superintendent Alex Harmon told 10News. "To prey on the elderly. They've got walkers for crying out loud."In one incident captured on video, the man approached a 97-year-old woman taking a walk on the sidewalk outside the building. He was seen opening her bag, which was placed on her walker, then removing an item and walking away.The woman later told building staff that he had struck up a conversation about her walker and that she had offered him candy. She says he opened her bag and instead of taking candy, stole her wallet.In a separate incident, the suspected thief and what appears to be a lookout are seen carefully observing an elderly woman walking by. One man then turned and followed her around the corner. She told 10News that's when he raced up and grabbed her gold necklace, breaking off her gold cross, and running off.Multiple police reports have been filed with El Cajon Police Department, which is investigating. 1389

EL CAJON, Calif. - The grieving mother of an accused thief filed a lawsuit Thursday against the homeowner who shot and killed her son.The civil suit identifies the homeowner as Michael Poe, and it stems from an incident in the early morning hours of March 11. Police say the homeowner woke up to the sound of glass breaking. He went outside and found someone breaking into his work truck. His mother Monika Anderson said her son had a drug problem but was doing his best to stay sober.“He was on Suboxone, a drug to stay sober, and someone had stolen his Suboxone,” Anderson said. “Although it's really hard for me to imagine my son at  31 years of age would just start stealing, but I think he was just desperate for drugs and in a lot of pain. I don’t think he deserved to die over that.”Police are investigating the incident and no criminal charges have been filed. Anderson’s attorney, Dan Gilleon, said that investigation should not affect their civil lawsuit.“The bottom line is Joe shouldn't have died and at a minimum it's because this guy didn’t act reasonably,” Gilleon said. “This is not the Wild West. (KGTV) -- El Cajon police are investigating another case of someone egging a car in the Granite Hills neighborhood. Shelby Howell says her car was egged early Monday morning. "This is the worst that it's happened," Howell said. DUBLIN, Calif. – Actress Lori Loughlin has surrendered herself to authorities to begin her two-month prison sentence for her involvement in the college admissions scam.NBC News and The Associated Press report that Loughlin reported to the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, California, on Friday to be processed.The former “Full House” star showed up early. She wasn’t ordered to report to the San Francisco- area prison until Nov. 19, NBC News reports.Earlier this year, Loughlin and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, pleaded guilty for paying 0,000 in bribes to cheat the college admissions process.It came to light in 2019 that the couple paid the money to get their two daughters into the University of Southern California as crew recruits, even though they aren’t rowers.Loughlin and Giannulli were among several people arrested in the case that was called “Operation Varsity Blues.”Loughlin was handed her two-month prison sentence in August, when a judge accepted her plea deal.
