FULLERTON, Calif. (KGTV) -- Sunday, the coroner’s office identified a 6-year-old girl who was mowed down by a suspected drunken driver in Fullerton.Grace Aguilar was killed around 2:15 p.m. Saturday after a driver, Maximino Delgado, 52, drove onto a sidewalk on the 1400 block of Lombard Street.Authorities say Delgado was attempting to make a turn when he lost control of the vehicle and struck Aguilar.RELATED: Pedestrian killed after being hit by train near Sorrento Valley coaster stationDelgado continued to drive on the sidewalk before reentering the road and striking a parked car.Police performed a breath test on Delgado and reportedly discovered his blood alcohol level was .23 percent, far above the level of drunken driving at .08 percent.Aguilar was taken to the hospital where she later died.RELATED: Tow truck crashes into pedestrian and bicyclist in Mira MesaDelgado was arrested and booked for driving under the influence of alcohol and vehicular manslaughter. HAWTHORNE (CNS) - A planned launch Saturday by Hawthorne-based SpaceX to deploy 57 internet satellites into orbit has been postponed for a third time to "allow more time for checkouts," the company tweeted.No new launch date was announced, but SpaceX officials said their launch team was working to identify the next earliest launch opportunity.The 10th Starlink mission, part of an effort to provide low-cost internet access, was originally scheduled for June 26 from Cape Canaveral in Florida but was scrubbed at the last minute to allow for more pre-flight equipment checks. SpaceX tried again Wednesday morning, but that launch had to be canceled due to bad weather.Saturday's launch had been set for 7:54 a.m. California time.When it eventually lifts off, the Falcon 9 rocket will carry 57 Starlink internet satellites as part of SpaceX's planned array to provide worldwide low-cost internet access, particularly in underserved areas.This 10th launch will increase the Starlink array to nearly 600 satellites in orbit. It's unclear exactly how many satellites will ultimately be included in the constellation. SpaceX founder Elon Musk has said previously that the service could begin operating when it reaches 1,000 satellites, and the company has already begun soliciting people to be "beta" testers. But the more satellites that are deployed will mean more comprehensive internet coverage.In addition to the 57 Starlink satellites, the SpaceX rocket will also carry a pair of satellites for Spaceflight Industries on behalf of Earth- observation company BlackSky.BlackSky is in the process of building its satellite array, with four already in orbit. The launch will increase the array to six, and the company has an initial goal of launching 16 by early next year. The array could ultimately have as many as 60 satellites, but timing on that expansion hasn't been determined.When the launch occurs, SpaceX will again attempt to recover the first stage of the Falcon 9 rocket by landing it on the company's "Of Course I Still Love You" barge in the Atlantic Ocean. He is currently the medical director of CHKD Medical Group and a pediatrician at Norfolk Pediatrics.“If we’re able to stick to the science in developing the vaccine, then that would be comforting if we could stick to the science and develop an effective and safe vaccine,” said Mitchell.Mitchell said the speed at which researchers are developing a vaccine to combat COVID-19 is nothing short of a miracle, but sticking to the clinical science behind the advancement is key for an effective and safe vaccine - and that takes time.“The stated goal that I saw by the CDC and/or FDA of wanting a vaccine that shows at least 50% protection and six months of safety data, that takes time,” he said. “We need a chance to show the safety profile of any new vaccine under the parameters of following the best science that we could follow.”Mitchell understands the process involved in developing a vaccine.More than 20 years ago, he was an investigator in several pediatric clinical trials. Many of the vaccines that came out of his lab are still used in children today.While there are still growing concerns about vaccines, the benefits outweigh the risks.“The flu vaccine clearly saves lives, clearly prevents illnesses, but it’s not 100% protective either, but we know it does have benefits,” Mitchell said. “The advantage there is the flu vaccine has been out for decades and we know its safety profile.”Similar to the rapid speed of developing a COVID-19 vaccine, Mitchell said a vaccine for H1N1, better known as the swine flu, was quickly put on the market.“The difference is, we already had decades of history of flu vaccines and their safety, so all that happened was developing the same flu vaccine that was protective against a different strain,” he said. “That’s a different ballgame than starting a vaccine against a totally different virus.”While the research continues, the fight against COVID-19 is far from over.According to Mitchell, the spread of the virus decreases when you reach heard immunity where enough of the population is immune.This story was first reported by Antoinette DelBel at WTKR in Norfolk, Virginia. 2363
