WESTMINSTER, Colo. — A family's lifeline was stolen right in front of their home on Tuesday morning. Someone took off in their 2004 Toyota Highlander with something even more valuable inside — an electric wheelchair. "She goes 'let me just go get the car; I'll be right back,' " said Candace Trujillo.Trujillo's mom drives her to work every morning because she's unable to drive herself. She has brittle bone disease and uses a wheelchair to get around. "I was born with 26 fractures," Trujillo said.Doctors didn't expect her to live past age 2. She's now 28 years old and works five days a week. The morning started off just like any other. Trujillo woke up at 3 a.m. to start getting ready for her job in customer service. She usually leaves the house around 5 a.m. Her mom will pull the car up, load the wheelchair and then help her into the car. On this cold morning, she left the car running and it was gone 10 minutes later."It also had my wheelchair on there, which are my legs. I can't go anywhere without those," said Trujillo.The ,000 power wheelchair was recovered three hours after the vehicle was stolen. It was abandoned approximately 15 minutes from their home."It's just been going on and on in my head all day, I just don't understand why," said Trujillo.The car is still missing, and without it, Trujillo has no idea how she's going to get to work."It's really awful. I don't even know how to describe it," she said. "I'm at a loss of words because the car is everything to us right now. We don't have one." 1581

When 4-year-old Mateo forgot his favorite toy, Bear, in San Diego during a recent trip, employees of a local hotel made sure Bear had a good time in America’s Finest City.Mateo and his parents visited San Diego earlier this month. They didn’t realize they left Bear in their hotel room at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay. Employees were able to find Bear, but made sure he enjoyed his extended vacation in San Diego before sending him back to Los Angeles. Bear enjoyed the hotel pool and water slide, lunch, and the spa before his trip back home. What started as a simple gesture of kindness during the lunch hour resulted in more than 900 cars “paying it forward” over the course of over two and a half days at a Minnesota Dairy Queen. Customers in the drive thru continued to pay for the order of the car behind them.According to the Brainerd, Minnesota, Dairy Queen, the chain started around lunch time on December 3. By the end of the first day, 280 cars participated by the close of business.December 4 started with paid forward from the night before, and it went from there. More than 500 cars in the drive thru paid it forward on December 4. The streak continued through December 5."It makes people feel good. Pizza Hut is banking on its customers to say, "Cold beer."Pizza Hut announced on Wednesday that beer delivery will be available at 100 of its Arizona and California locations. The company said beer delivery is part of a nationwide pilot program. The beer will be stored in special coolers to keep it cold during delivery. Coors Light, Blue Moon and Miller High Life will be among the offerings. Customers who order a six-pack in some Arizona markets will have their delivery fee waived. "Nothing complements an oven-hot pizza like an ice-cold beer," said Zipporah Allen, CMO, Pizza Hut. "In addition to our extensive delivery network, many Pizza Hut restaurants are already licensed to serve and distribute beer, without third party services, additional fees, or extended wait times. Expanding the pilot program is a natural way for Pizza Hut to get our customers the perfect pizza and beer combo they're craving, delivered right to their doors."  Pizza Hut said it currently offers beer delivery at participating restaurants in Phoenix, Tucson, Glendale, Prescott, and Winslow in Arizona, along with participating restaurants in Los Angeles, Bakersfield, Riverside, Sacramento, Santa Barbara and Santa Clara in California.
