GREENWOOD, Ind. — An Indiana family is asking for help to identify a driver who was caught on camera plowing through their yard to destroy their Christmas decorations. The video starts with a man getting out of his black SUV and then walking up to take a closer look at the front yard where Casie Arnold says her family had a giant inflatable Christmas decoration. The man then gets back into his vehicle, backs up and plows straight through the family's yard and over the top of that 12-foot inflatable decoration. Neighbor cameras caught the whole thing on surveillance video, which you can see below. 642

GRANDVIEW, Mo. — It's something many women dream about for years: the dress she'll walk down the aisle in to say "I do."One Kansas City-area bride about to be married is giving hers away to another bride going through a difficult time.Grandview resident Taylor Cooper will marry her fiance, Nick Amor, on Oct. 10. Cooper originally planned to have two wedding dresses, one to wear during her ceremony and the other during her reception. After downsizing her wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she didn't think the wardrobe change would be appropriate and wanted the extra dress to go to a bride who could use some help.Cooper said she recently landed her dream job and feels blessed she has not faced many difficulties because of the pandemic."I just wanted to think of a way to give back to somebody that had been impacted," Cooper said. "I never really thought in my life that I would be in a position that I could gift something like this."She posted in a bridal Facebook group saying she was looking for a bride in need of a dress, and she was quickly connected with a bride in Georgia."She's just such a sweetheart, she literally has texted me every single day since I told her I was going to give it to her, and she's like 'I can't thank you enough,'" Cooper said.Cooper packed up the dress Wednesday to ship it to its new owner."I feel like it's going where it belongs," Cooper said.Cooper's October wedding is one of many happening this fall.Megan Julian, the founder of Julian Events in Kansas City, said she's seeing fewer couples canceling or postponing weddings and moving to smaller weddings instead."What we're finding is couples are surprised by what they can do with their original plans on a smaller scale," Julian said.Julian said many couples are also incorporating virtual aspects to their weddings so they can keep their original guest list.As Cooper prepares to send off her dress, she hopes to inspire others to lend a helping hand if they can."It doesn't really matter how big or small, I just think any nice gesture we can do for each other these days is just so important," Cooper said. This story originally reported by Emma James on kshb.com. 2180

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies arrested a 71-year-old Hernando County Commissioner on Thursday for allegedly hiring a prostitute and letting his home be used as a house brothel. In February, deputies were called to the home of Hernando County Commissioner Nick Nicholson because his roommates, 30-year-old Valerie Surette and 32-year-old Kendel Surette were involved in a domestic dispute. While in the home deputies found drug paraphernalia. Nicholson was home at the time and claimed to be unaware of the drugs that he said belonged to his roommates.During the investigation Kendel Surette admitted to deputies that his wife, who is a former stripper, has sex with Nicholson on Tuesdays and Saturdays in exchange for rent and food.He also told deputies Nicholson pays Valerie Surette 0 a week for the sex and allows his wife to bring “customers” into the home for sex.Following a two-month-long investigation, deputies arrested Nicholson for one count of owning a home for the purpose of prostitution and two counts of engaging in prostitution. His bond is set at ,000.A former political supporter of Nicholson’s said he is disappointed."I feel badly for Nick and his family, but as a citizen I'm angry, he's let us down," said Forrest Bennett.Hernando County Government sent out this message: "This is a personal legal matter for Mr. Nicholson; therefore, the Hernando County Board of County Commissioners nor its staff, will provide a statement on this subject at this time."Scripps station WFTS in Tampa reached out to other Hernando County Commissioners for comment.Commissioner Jeff Holcomb said he asked that Nicholson step down as chairman of the commission back in 2015 when a similar issue involving a stripper was being investigated. But Nicholson remained chairman. Commissioner John Allocco gave this statement: "As a county commissioner and a voter, I am deeply concerned about the behavior and recent arrest of Nick Nicholson. As the chairman of the Hernando County Republican Party we have had concerns about his behavior for years going as far as passing a 2015 resolution asking him to resign and not run for re-election. I wish that he would have taken our advice and used his time as an opportunity to straighten his life out. Whatever the outcome, please know that I will do whatever is necessary to make sure Hernando County has a positive future." 2449
