A visitor to Yellowstone National Park was injured by a grizzly bear while hiking near Old Faithful on Monday.According to a park press release, the 37-year-old woman from Missouri was hiking alone on the Fairy Falls Trail when she encountered two grizzly bears "at very close range."One of the bears knocked the woman down, and she suffered a scratch on her thigh. A tourist was stabbed while playing slots Monday at the Golden Nugget in downtown Las Vegas.It happened shortly after 1 a.m. A man, who was visiting from another country with his brother, was approached by another man who asked him for a cigarette.The man then stabbed the tourist in his side with warning or provocation.The victim's brother chased the suspect but was unable to catch him.The suspect was later spotted by security guards at Four Queens. They called 911. A patrol unit then spotted the suspect near Fremont Street and Maryland Parkway and arrested him.The victim was transported to a local hospital and expected to be discharged later today, according to Watch Commander Lt. Eggs are collected, incubated under natural conditions and then the offspring are “head-started” for eventual repatriation into the Chindwin River, WCS says.Conservationists say the captive population of these turtles is approaching 100,000.WCS says complementary conservation efforts are focused on the remaining wild population, which consists of five to six adult females and perhaps as few as two males.Steven G. Platt with WCS told The New York Times that if conservationists didn’t intervene, the turtle species would be gone for good.But while the species is headed in a good direction, Platt cautioned that unsustainable fishing practices remain a problem for the turtles’ recovery in nature. 1222
