(KGTV) — Days after President Trump restored Navy Chief Edward Gallagher's rank after he was convicted of posing with a dead Islamic State captive, Navy officials reportedly intend to review his fitness to serve.According to the New York Times, Navy officials have ordered Gallagher to be appear before leaders Wednesday where they will review his ability to remain a Navy SEAL.The Navy will reportedly also review three SEAL officers who oversaw Gallagher: Lt. Cmdr. Robert Breisch, Lt. Jacob Portier and Lt. Thomas MacNeil.“We have implemented the President’s order to restore Chief Gallagher’s paygrade,” Captain Tamara Lawrence, a spokesperson for Navy Special Warfare Command, told CNN. She added that Rear Adm. Collin Green, the commander of Naval Special Warfare Command, “is responsible for the Naval Special Warfare Force. (KGTV) — Disneyland cast members, fans, and local officials rallied outside of Disneyland to call for California to reopen shuttered theme parks throughout the state.Demonstrators, with signs in hand blurring the line between Disney quotes and calls for action, gathered on Saturday to demand Gov. Gavin Newsom announce guidance for Disneyland and other theme parks to reopen amid the pandemic."If Disneyland is open world-wide then why can't Disneyland in Anaheim be open," one employee told KABC. "I think the governor needs to give us a chance to reopen and they keep asking and he keeps pushing the bar farther back."This month, Disney announced it plans to lay off 28,000 employees partially because of California's reluctance to reopen theme parks. The parks have been closed since mid-March when many coronavirus closures began.The guidance was reportedly set to be released soon in September, until Newsom said that the state will take its time before issuing rules."We are going to be led by a health-first framework and we’re going to be stubborn about it," Newsom said earlier this month. "That’s our commitment — that’s our resolve. We feel there’s no hurry putting out guidelines."Newsom added, "it’s very complex. These are like small cities, small communities, small towns. (KGTV) - Experts from the San Diego Zoo have been sent to Madagascar to help care for nearly 11,000 tortoises discovered in a massive poaching bust.The April 10 discovery by local police found the tortoises covering virtually every room in the raided home. The animals did not have access to food or water.Since the discovery, hundreds of the tortoises had died from dehydration and illness.RELATED: Tortoise with broken shell recovering after surgeryAuthorities believe the 10,976 tortoises discovered were part of illegal pet trading and planned for shipment to Asia. There, tortoises shells are highly prized, officials said.San Diego Zoo officials will help supply medical supplies, administer care, and general assistance, according to the zoo."Unfortunately we have had a number of situations in recent years where our staff has been called upon to assist animals that have been caught up in wildlife trafficking,” Kim Lovich, curator of reptiles at San Diego Zoo, said. "This is an overwhelming situation, where we recognize that every individual we save may make the difference between this species’ long-term survival and its extinction. We have to help."Crews are working to relocate the surviving tortoises to SOPTOM-Villages des Tortues, a 17-acre private wildlife facility in Ifaty, for further care.Zoo officials say radiated tortoise populations have declined more than 80 percent in the last 30 years.
