John Lewis crossed Selma’s Edmund Pettus Bridge for the final time Sunday as remembrances continue for the civil rights icon.A processional with Lewis’ casket was carried across the Selma bridge where he and other civil rights marchers were beaten 55 years ago on “Bloody Sunday,” a key event in the fight for voting rights for African Americans.Lewis will lie in repose at the Alabama Capitol on Sunday afternoon.He will lie in state at the U.S. Capitol next week before his private funeral Thursday at Atlanta’s historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, which the Rev. (KGTV) — For more than 20 years, Casey Rummerfield has been the toast of Halloween in his San Marcos neighborhood.Hours spent throughout the year on handmade electronic displays, decorations, and more turn his Shadow Hills Drive home into a memorable tradition for his neighbors, family, and friends."It's more hours than it is money. The cannon prop is home built," Rummerfield says, pointing to various props, barrels, and displays he has built by hand. SAN ONOFRE (KGTV) -- Police chased a domestic violence suspect from Los Angeles County to San Diego County Thursday night. The driver, who has family in Tijuana, was believe to be heading to the border, according to our ABC affiliate in L.A.?At one point, the suspect may have ran over a spike strip, slowing him down. Once near the Camp Pendleton area police attempted two pit maneuvers. Shortly after the suspect drove off the freeway and into the brush, where he ultimately turned off the car and exited his vehicle. Police were able to take him into custody around 11:20 p.m. and began to search the vehicle. *This is a developing story. 10News will continue to update as more details unfold.  730

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — A grandfather accused in the fatal fall of his young granddaughter from an 11th-story window of a cruise ship docked in Puerto Rico last year has pleaded guilty to negligent homicide.Salvatore Anello of Valparaiso, Indiana, earlier said he would drop a not-guilty plea to help end what he called “this nightmare" for his family.Chloe Wiegand, an 18-month-old, slipped from Anello’s grasp and fell about 150 feet from an open window of Royal Caribbean Cruises’ Freedom of the Seas ship in July 2019.Anello, 51, has repeatedly said he is colorblind and did not know the window in the children's play area was open when he lifted Chloe up so she could bang on the glass, WRTV reports.Chloe's parents filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Royal Caribbean Cruises in December 2019, claiming the company violated industry standards by failing to provide reasonably safe windows in an area where children play on the ship.In response, Royal Caribbean filed court documents alleging that Anello was “unquestionably aware” that the window was open because video shows him leaning out of it right before he picked Chloe up and dangled her from it.The documents filed by Royal Caribbean claim Anello's actions were captured on two separate video surveillance cameras, which were previously unreleased. The cruise ship has now submitted those videos to the court in response to the lawsuit filed against them.Puerto Rico prosecutor Laura Hernández said Thursday that Anello would be sentenced on Dec. 10. 1530

SAN MARCOS, Calif. (KGTV) - A local portable toilet rental company is charged with tampering with equipment on its trucks to skirt emissions regulations. Employees also allegedly faked some of the smog test results.Team 10 Investigative Reporter Jennifer Kastner went to San Marcos’ Diamond Environmental Services on Friday afternoon, but was asked to leave. 10News was looking for answers to the alarming accusations that the company and some of its employees were committing crimes against the environment. Part of a video on the company’s website states, “Diamond's dedication to doing the right thing goes above and beyond.” Yet prosecutors say Diamond was preparing false smog test results to get passing results. Additionally, executives were allegedly tampering with emission control devices on its diesel truck fleet, re-programming the emission monitoring devices to avoid extra costs that come with burning off dirty, soot-filled diesel filters. Ed Rodriguez is the owner of Auto Park Smog in Escondido. He says, “If you’ve ever seen a vehicle going down the road, like a truck, and it has black smoke coming out of it, that’s all soot and that's not good.” Rodriguez says he's worked on Diamond's smaller trucks but not the ones that are part of this new six count federal indictment. The U.S. Attorney’s Office claims that Diamond took the devices out of trucks and shipped them out of California to be re-programmed. Owner and manager Arie Eric De Jong III, manager Warren Van Dam and technician Jorge Leyva Rodriguez are facing time behind bars and thousands of dollars in fines.The company declined an interview during our visit to the headquarters on Friday afternoon. 1692
