RIDGECREST, Calif. (KGTV) — A 4.7-magnitude earthquake hit just outside the town Southern California town of Ridgecrest late Thursday.The quake struck near area of Little Lake, Calif., about 20 miles away from Ridgecrest just after 5:40 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. USGS estimated the earthquake's depth at about 1.2 miles.The earthquake could be felt from as far away as Spring Valley, according to the USGS' "Did You Feel It?" map.Several aftershocks were recorded around the area following the 4.7 shake up. No injuries were immediately reported. On July 5, magnitude 5.4 and 7.1 quakes hit the Ridgecrest area, causing millions in damage locally. Those quakes could be felt as far away as Las Vegas. 729

Anthony’s headstone will see something new this year: a plastic cover.Her headstone, in a cemetery in Rochester, New York, now has a shield to prevent further degradation to the marble from the stickers’ glue and the cleaners used to remove the stickers.The sticker trend became popular on Election Day 2016, when as many as 12,000 people visited the cemetery where Anthony is buried.A spring restoration effort had revealed the damage done to the marble marker.This year, WHAM reports that city officials have also marked off a pathway for visitor to follow so they don’t disrupt other gravesites. RICHMOND, Indiana — An emergency call credited with foiling the shooting at a Richmond middle school on Thursday was made by the teenage suspect's mother, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the investigation.The call was made at 8:11 a.m. local time by the mother, according to information obtained from Wayne County's Emergency Communications Division.Sources tell WRTV television station in Indianapolis the mother called after the teenage boy had taken another family member hostage and forced them to drive to Dennis Intermediate School, just a little more than a mile from their home.Once the boy was at the school, he entered the building through a side door and eventually exchanged gunfire with responding officers, before turning the gun on himself, according to the sources.WRTV did request a recording of the call made to Wayne County's Emergency Communications Division, but the call is not being released due to the investigation.The advance call gave the school valuable minutes to lock down the middle school and allow police to quickly respond to the school, sources said. 1119
