Democrats in one Nevada county were left wondering about the possibility of a phantom precinct after no one from there voted during the caucuses. No one from the precinct cast a ballot during early voting or showed up at Saturday's caucus site at the University of Nevada, Reno, where hundreds gathered from six other precincts. It turns out there's one registered voter in the precinct comprised solely of a park: a park employee. The lone delegate was designated “uncommitted” at the precinct caucus level but doesn't advance to the next round. Having few or no registered voters in precincts is not as unusual as it sounds in sparsely populated Nevada. 667

While he was vice president, Joe Biden pushed for the firing of Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin, who was investigating Burisma. Obama administration officials maintain Shokin's firing was consistent with the U.S.'s strategy of rooting out corruption in Ukraine. During part of his remarks on Wednesday, Schiff pushed for Republicans to approve witnesses following opening arguments by both sides. "You should want the whole truth to come out. You should want to know about every player in this sordid business. It is within your power to do so," Schiff said.When setting rules for the impeachment trial, Republicans declined to include scheduled time for witnesses. Following opening arguments, senators most vote to approve additional witnesses with a majority vote. CLEVELAND — Deputies are investigating a possible hate crime after racial slurs were found spray painted on a home after an explosion early Wednesday morning, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department in Ohio. The house in the 6700 block of Spruce Street in Sterling, Ohio, had a minor electrical fire July 3. The couple who lived there, a white man and a black woman, were staying elsewhere during repairs, deputies said. Around 1 a.m., neighbors reported an explosion at the home. When deputies arrived, they found racial slurs spray painted on the property, according to deputies. 604
