(KGTV) -- A man was arrested after reportedly assaulting two Border Patrol agents as they attempted to arrest him for trying to smuggle people into the U.S. According to the agency, the incident happened around 1:17 a.m. Tuesday as agents patrolled Interstate 8 in Campo. Agents tried to stop a 2007 Ford F-350 near Kitchen Creek Road when the driver took off, leading agents on a high-speed chase. As agents searched for man, he reportedly jumped out of a nearby bush, tackling one of the officers to the ground. A second agent also responded to the scene, struggling with the suspect as well. Inside the F-350, agents found three men and one woman, all Mexican nationals in the U.S. illegally. They were all taken to a Border Patrol station for processing and the suspect, identified as a 37-year-old U.S. citizen, was arrested. (KGTV) - A former DACA recipient was arrested Monday on his second attempt to re-enter the U.S. from Mexico.El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents received information from Remote Video Surveillance Systems operators that a man had crossed the border fence approximately 3 miles east of Calexico.RVSS monitors showed the man running away from agents as they tried to arrest him, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials said.After a brief chase, agents caught 23-year-old Mexican citizen Juan Manual Montes-Bojorquez.CBP said Montes had previously been deported in February.“Our agents witnessed and arrested Mr. Bojorquez making an illegal entry into the United States for the second time this year,” said Assistant Chief Patrol Agent David S. He also faces five counts of malicious wounding, three counts of aggravated malicious wounding and one count of failing to stop at an accident involving a death.Separately, he is charged with hate crimes in a 30-count federal indictment. Prosecutors in that case allege Fields espoused white supremacist ideals and denounced minorities on social media before traveling to Virginia for the rally. CARLSBAD, Calif. (KGTV) - The sister of an Orange County teenager whose pleas for help on Interstate 5 prompted 911 calls is explaining the family’s efforts to take the girl to rehab. California Highway Patrol officials said other drivers reported seeing the girl with her hands and feet tied Monday about 7 p.m. Officers pulled over the Toyota Corolla at south I-5 and Cannon Road in Carlsbad and found the girl restrained with tape over her mouth. The girl’s father told the CHP he and his 21-year-old daughter were driving the girl to a drug rehab facility in Mexico. The sister told 10News the girl was bound because her family didn’t want her to escape. The family was concerned the girl would end up dead. The sister also told 10News the teen wasn’t accepted into rehab in Orange County because she had escaped in the past. The family visited the clinic in Tijuana earlier this month to determine it was safe, the sister said. CHP public information officer Kevin Smale said the father and sister were arrested Monday but the district attorney’s office chose not to book them on kidnapping charges.
