(AP) — A gunman opened fire inside a Southern California Costco during an argument Friday night, killing a man, wounding two other people and sparking a stampede of terrified shoppers before he was taken into custody, police said.Police swarmed the Costco after shots were reported at the huge store about 50 miles (80.5 kilometers) southeast of downtown Los Angeles.Witnesses told KCAL-TV that a man with a Mohawk haircut was arguing with someone near a freezer section when he pulled a gun and fired at least six shots.The man involved in the argument was killed and two other people were wounded, Corona police Lt. She said her mother saw people injured on the floor.Will Lungo, 45, of Corona, said he and his wife were near the produce and alcohol sections when he heard gunshots."I thought maybe someone dropped a bottle of wine, but then I kept hearing shots," Lungo told the Press-Enterprise. (KGTV) -- Navy officials say a helicopter crewman was killed last week in a fuel tank accident at Naval Air Station North Island.Officials say Aircrewman 1st Class Jonathan Clement was taken to the hospital after a fuel tank detached from an HH-60H Seahawk helicopter, striking him and a fellow officer on July 30.The 31-year-old later died at the hospital the following day, according to the Navy Times. The other sailor was treated and released from the hospital after suffering minor injuries, officials say.Both sailors were assigned to the “Firehawks” of North Island-based Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 85, the Times reported.The Navy Safety Center reported the incident on August 6, but only indicated that the helicopter crew was conducting ‘hot seat” training when the accident happened.Hot seat training is conducted so crews can practice switching out from an aircraft without turning off the engines.Clement was an 11-year Navy veteran originally from Florida. 1003

CITRUS COUNTY, Florida — A woman was attacked by an alligator on Wednesday while she was swimming in a lake in Citrus County, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission.The FWC says 24-year-old Felicitie Marie Gillette was swimming in Lake Hernando around 1 a.m. when an alligator grabbed her by the left arm and began to drag her underwater. She was reportedly able to fight off the alligator and call 911 for help.Gillette was taken to Ocala Regional Hospital for treatment of her injuries. According to the FWC, she was treated and released. She sustained non-life threatening injuries.The alligator is believed to 5 to 6-feet long.The FWC and the Citrus County Sheriff's Office are working to catch the alligator. A trapper has also been called to the scene.The public beach access to Lake Hernando is closed while a wildlife trapper searches for the alligator.Families who visit the lake say they've seen an alligator swim along the beach's public access area."The alligator was on the hunt," said Dennis Weis. "You could tell by the aggressive movements by the alligator."Dennis Weis shared cell phone video with ABC Action News showing an alligator roaming in the water near the beach, just a few days before the attack. Now the company is defending the initiative, and calling it something much more mundane: A "corporate news journalistic responsibility promotional campaign."Sinclair, America's largest operator of local TV stations, is in the spotlight after a controversial promo video went viral over the weekend.Some staffers say they're embarrassed by the promos and concerned about their own credibility as journalists. A few local anchors and reporters are even reacting publicly, risking the ire of management.But Sinclair senior vice president of news Scott Livingston is defending the promos as a "well-researched journalistic initiative focused on fair and objective reporting."In an internal memo obtained by CNNMoney, Livingston slammed what he called "misleading, often defamatory stories" about the company.
