UNITED NATIONS, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Friday delivered a speech at the General Debate of the UN General Assembly, endorsing multilateralism, world peace and free trade.
"The purpose of learning from the heroes is to apply their spirit in everyday work and demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility to people's lives and safety," he said.
China has become the main stabilizer and power source for global economic growth, with significant contributions to the promotion of world peace and development, the Chinese ambassador noted.
"It is a historic moment. The relationship between China and the Dominican Republic has opened a new page," Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said.
The UN should help African countries speed up development, support their unity, self-improvement and integration, and make their voice and influence greater in international affairs, Xi said.
