SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Portions of San Diego County are gearing up for more dry, windy weather as a red flag warning and potential power outages loom.According to the National Weather Service, the warning goes into effect from 4 a.m. Monday through 10 p.m. Tuesday for the mountains and valleys.The agency says east winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour are expected, with gusts up to 50 miles per hour and isolated gusts up to 60 miles per hour.RELATED: Check your local forecastHumidity will also be low, with values around 10%, the agency said Sunday.“Any fires that develop will spread rapidly. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are investigating a suspicious death after a body was found near the San Diego River Saturday night. According to San Diego Police, a man’s body was found on the 9400 block of Friars Road near SDCCU Stadium around 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Police say a preliminary investigation revealed signs of “possible trauma to the upper body.”“Out of an abundance of caution, San Diego Police Homicide detectives were called to the scene and are currently investigating the incident,” the department said. The man has been identified, but his identity isn’t being released until his family is notified. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - On Monday, the California National Guard confirmed that its service members were recently sent to two San Diego nursing homes that needed help treating residents who were sick with COVID-19.“We supplemented their existing staff- their civilian staff- with our medical teams here in the California National Guard,” Lt. Col. Jonathan Shiroma told ABC10 and said that they were deployed at the direction of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).The National Guard reports that 20 troops were sent to Santee's Stanford Court nursing facility for a week in October and another 20 troops were sent to El Cajon's Villa Las Palmas for two weeks in November.Lt. Col. Shiroma said teams tested patients and staff and offered other supportive care. “Within the Guard we also have many medical professionals so each of the teams were led by either a physician assistant or a registered nurse or an LPN,” he added.“If you have an outbreak, you have staff that has to quarantine and so in order to provide care you want to get people into the building to help with the residents,” Deborah Pacyna with the California Association of Health Facilities told ABC10 News.The CDPH reports that since the start of the pandemic, 50 healthcare workers have tested positive at the El Cajon facility where 91 residents have gotten the virus and 45 healthcare workers have tested positive at the Santee facility where 58 residents have contracted COVID-19.The National Guard said that it doesn't have any current missions in San Diego but it's always ready. “If something comes in the next few weeks and there’s a need in any part of the state, the California National Guard will respond appropriately,” added Lt. Komen 3-Day walk in San Diego Friday.One year ago, Leslie Heiser got the news she never expected to hear: she was diagnosed with breast cancer. After a year of treatment, doctors have declared her cancer-free. What started as simple motivation to get through tough days turned into what she believes will be a life-changing experience.The walkers participating in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day event will cover 60 miles in three days. All are doing it for different reasons: some walking in memory of loved ones, others showing support for those battling cancer. And my biggest cheerleader from treatment to surgery. Those moments when you really need someone you can depend on, rely on, my rock," said Heiser.Each participant raised more than ,000 to do the walk. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Multiple former students of San Diego's Christian Youth Theater, known as CYT, are coming forward with stories of sexual assault, abuse and misconduct.On the phone Tuesday, the president of CYT confirmed that one of her own close family members claims that he was even abused when he was in CYT many years ago.On its Facebook page, the El Cajon-based theater group has acknowledged recent accusations of sex abuse from former students.Part of its statement reads, “We are deeply saddened to learn about statements that have recently been made on social media involving former CYT students, and we want you to know that we take these allegations very seriously…We have been working tirelessly on these issues with the authorities, outside consultants, staff, and the Board of Directors since they were brought to our attention…"San Diego attorney Jessica Pride said Tuesday that she's representing a former student who claims she was sexually abused starting in 2006. “The first time she was 13 and it continued until she was 15-years-old,” said Pride.The after-school theater arts training program was founded 40 years ago and is for students ranging from 4-years-old to 18-years-old. On its website, CYT writes that its grown to be the largest youth theater program in the nation with branches across the country, training thousands of students a year.Tuesday, CYT President Janie Russell Cox would not confirm the number of alleged victims or whether the accusations of abuse were between just students or students and teachers, but said claims have come from alumni- not current students.Cox confirmed that her close family member publicly posted on social media his own account of abuse from many years ago. She said she's heartbroken and wants to be transparent and will provide an on-camera interview in the upcoming days.Pride said dozens of other former students are now contacting the firm. “The phone has been ringing off the hook with survivors who are calling and want to tell their story and want to make sure that CYT changes,” she added.San Diego Police told ABC10 News Tuesday that its Sex Crimes Unit is conducting an investigation in which there is an association with CYT.An advocate for several of the alleged victims is asking for any other possible victims to come forward.
