SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Thursday night, the State Board of Education voted to decline the renewal charters for all four Thrive Charter Schools in San Diego. They explain the test scores are too low and keep dropping. The vote technically didn't carry because the board needs six votes to pass any motion. The vote Thursday night was four to two, not all members were present for the vote. If the schools are forced to shut down, nearly 1,000 students would have to look for new schools at the end of the school year. She tells me this is her daughter's first year, "it's been a Godsend because I was so done with not being able to have LeLe brought up to her potential in the public schools". This school year, Buehler moved her daughter to Thrive and says she doesn't think the state board should shut the schools down solely based on that, "it's mind-blowing because this is going to change so many students lives, not the better, and it’s a shame that it's based on numbers on a paper when you actually see these are future leaders in our community."Meanwhile, some parents have already contacted the San Diego Unified School District to enroll their children for next year. The District Operations Support Officer, Marceline Marques, tells 10News, "in the past 24 hours, we've already placed 60 students throughout the district from Thrive". Medical Center in Hillcrest, his broken leg in a cast from above the knee to his toes.  "The pain I have is in my right leg.  Once I move it, it's a crazy pain, really bad. My right rib, one is broken and when I raise my voice, it hurts really bad."It was Sunday night about midnight in Ocean Beach. He had pulled over to assist a stranded couple on the shoulder of Sunset Cliffs Blvd.  The Ocean Beach man was trying to help start their white Lexus when another car slammed into them. The impact peeled back the door of the Lexus and propelled Julio into the air, over his own car, and into the ditch.Paramedics were soon on-scene; as his wife and two young children watched.Vazquez was doing a good deed; and paying a price for it.  "Stuff happens. Doesn't make me feel bad. It's just something I do when I see somebody needs help."Now he needs help; could be off work for several months and people are responding.  A GoFundMe page was set up to help offset costs; asking ,000.    "It feels great! SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The suspect accused of supplying the fentanyl that led to the deadly overdose of a 25-year-old admitted to supplying the drug in court Tuesday. Uriah Odish admitted to selling more than 500 grams of what he knew to be fentanyl between 2017 and the day of the deadly overdose of Tiffany Hansen in 2018. “Every time we have an overdose death, we are going to come looking for the dealer,” said U.S. Attorney Robert Brewer. “We are using every available criminal and civil tool to combat this deadly epidemic and stop these tragic losses.”“We work every day to save lives and we grieve when we lose a precious soul to drugs,” said DEA Special Agent in Charge Karen Flowers. “We will continue to pursue anyone who deals death. Is that you? If so, we are coming and your time will soon be spent behind bars.
