Dennis Hof, a Nevada brothel owner and reality TV star who died last month, won an election for Nevada's 36th Assembly District Tuesday night, the Nevada Secretary of State's office said.Hof, who ran as a Republican, defeated Democratic challenger Lesia Romanov by more than 7,000 votes, the office said.Nevada's 36th Assembly District sits in the southern portion of the state, and includes portions of Nye, Lincoln and of Clark counties. DEL MAR, Calif. (KGTV) - It’s the first day of Bing Crosby winter horse racing at the Del Mar Racetrack and fans are making their way through the gates. Race officials say safety, for riders and horses, is the top priority for everyone. The Bing Crosby season is 15 days shorter than the summer season. Trainers say the Del Mar track is one the best because of San Diego's weather. "This track, especially in the fall, is the safest dirt track in the world," says trainer Bob Hess. Some politicians even suggested suspending racing there. "It's tens of thousands of jobs. It's a billion-dollar industry," says Harper. David Turpin and Louise Turpin, the California couple accused of holding their 13 children captive and torturing all but one, are facing additional charges, a prosecution spokesman said Friday.Riverside County District Attorney spokesman John Hall told reporters after a brief court hearing that each Turpin is facing three additional counts of child abuse. (KGTV) — While concerts are on hiatus during the pandemic, the Del Mar Fairgrounds will host several "concerts in your car" this fall.Acts including Dirty Heads, DJ Snoopadelic (aka Snoop Dogg), Slightly Stoopid, The Beach Boys, and more will take the stage at Del Mar between Sept. 25 and Nov. 1. Concerts will be held on a high, theater-in-the-round style, four-sided stage to give concertgoers a view of the show from any direction.Ticket prices for vehicles range based on the concert and which color-coded section you select. Many of the concerts start at per car for the furthest section from the stage. Large video screens have been added to each side of the stage.Passengers must not exceed the number of seats and seat belts in a vehicle, according to the concert series' producer.
