President Donald Trump told reporters Friday he remains open to holding a summit with North Korea's Kim Jong Un on June 12.The President said lines of communication had opened between the two countries after officials said Thursday that the North Koreans had become unresponsive, leading to the planned summit's cancellation."We're going to see what happens. We're talking to them now. It was a very nice statement they put out," Trump said on the South Lawn before departing in his helicopter for the US Naval Academy in Maryland, where he is delivering a commencement address."We'll see what happens. It could even be the 12th. We're talking to them now," he said. "They very much want to do it. President Donald Trump's nominee for an Alabama federal court judgeship is being criticized for not disclosing in his confirmation process his wife's role in the White House.Brett Talley did not disclose his wife's position as chief of staff for White House Counsel Donald McGahn on his Senate questionnaire, according to The New York Times.Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the top Democrat on the Senate judiciary committee, said the full Senate should not consider Talley's nomination until he explains why he failed to disclose the potential conflict of interest."By failing to disclose that his wife is one of President Trump's lawyers," Feinstein said in a statement, "Talley has betrayed his obligation to be open and transparent with the Senate and American people."The Senate judiciary committee advanced Talley's nomination along a party-line vote Thursday and a full Senate vote is expected soon.Question 24 of the disclosure form asks nominees to "identify the family members or other persons ... that are likely to present potential conflicts of interest." (KGTV) — Ramona Unified School District is alerting parents of what they called a "suspicious" incident at a local elementary school Friday.In a letter home to families, Barnett Elementary School Principal Linda Marthis said a kindergarten student reported the incident took place at the campus' upper playground in front of the school.Marthis did not elaborate on the incident. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, questioned Dr. Anthony Fauci on Friday on why protests were permitted in the wake of the death of George Floyd amid the coronavirus pandemic.Jordan claimed that allowing protests while church services in some states have been scaled back due to the spread of the virus was "inconsistent."During the heated exchange, Dr. Fauci conceded that all mass gatherings, including protests, should be avoided by the public.
