(AP) — Walt Disney Co. has put a hold on construction plans for a luxury hotel in the Disneyland Resort's shopping district, citing a feud with Anaheim officials over tax subsidies.The Los Angeles Times reports a letter dated Wednesday from the chief counsel for Disneyland Resorts, David Ontko, to Anaheim City Attorney Robert Fabela says the company has no other choice than to put the construction on hold indefinitely as it "reevaluates the economic viability of future hotel development in Anaheim."The dispute centers on a 7-million tax break Anaheim City Council approved in 2016 for a 700-room hotel.Anaheim Chamber of Commerce President Todd Ament calls Disneyland's decision to halt development of the hotel a "devastating blow to Anaheim and a direct result of the city's increasingly hostile actions towards our local economy." 876

As hospitals are becoming overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients, North Dakota is permitting coronavirus-positive health care workers to continue assisting patients.The guidance stipulates that the health care workers must remain asymptomatic and take enhanced precautions in order to stay on the job. This comes as travel nurses are stretched thin as dozens of states are reporting record hospitalizations.Given the situation in North Dakota and elsewhere, it is possible more states will have to follow suit and continue using infected staff members in order to provide care. The CDC has spelled out guidance in these situations.The CDC says hospitals must exhaust a number of other guidelines, including adding travel nurses, postponing elective medical procedures, and postpone elective time off, before going into a crisis staffing situation.“If shortages continue despite other mitigation strategies, consider implementing criteria to allow HCP (health care personnel) with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 who are well enough and willing to work but have not met all Return to Work Criteria to work,” the CDC’s guidance states. “If HCP are allowed to work before meeting all criteria, they should be restricted from contact with severely immunocompromised patients (e.g., transplant, hematology-oncology) and facilities should consider prioritizing their duties in the following order:1. If not already done, allow HCP with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 to perform job duties where they do not interact with others (e.g., patients or other HCP), such as in telemedicine services.2. Allow HCP with confirmed COVID-19 to provide direct care only for patients with confirmed COVID-19, preferably in a cohort setting.3. Allow HCP with confirmed COVID-19 to provide direct care for patients with suspected COVID-19.4. As a last resort, allow HCP with confirmed COVID-19 to provide direct care for patients without suspected or confirmed COVID-19.”North Dakota Gov. An alligator was spotted trying to climb the fence at Lely High School in Naples, Florida, Monday morning.Ray Simonsen, a.k.a "Ray the Trapper," was called in to get it.“Gators can climb. That’s why you can find them wherever, whenever," said Simonsen.Simonsen said he wasn’t surprised by what the gator was doing, but by how big it was.“I received a call that there was a 4-foot gator on property. I roll up and I get a big grin on my face, because that 4-foot was 7-foot 6-and-a-half-inch," said Simonsen.But that alligator Simonsen caught wasn’t the only one that got somewhere it didn’t belong on Monday. According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies had to respond to the Estero Parc Apartments, because an alligator actually got inside the building.The sheriff’s office posted a picture to Facebook, saying people were in the elevator when the doors opened, and a small gator was there to greet them. 923

Apple announced on Friday that it is planning to temporarily close several of its locations in four states as the number of coronavirus cases in some US states are surging.Apple said that two stores in Florida, two in North Carolina, one in South Carolina and six in Arizona will be closed until further notice.
