SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Parents say they're disappointed after witnessing what they say was disrespect of the flag and national anthem at a high school basketball game. One parent captured video of the incident at Lincoln High School. They have a student at St. Augustine and say it was the second time they witnessed Lincoln High players sitting down during the anthem. The parent described the players as talking and joking around during it.A grandfather at the game, who is a Vietnam veteran, says he too was offended. He wrote a letter to Lincoln's principal and wants to sit down with him to discuss the issue. The veteran believes the players were disrespectful and says their actions were not in line with the school's mission statement.10News spoke with the school's basketball coach by phone who says he doesn't believe students meant to be disrespectful. She uses an app to call a smart shuttle, which takes her to a transit center she hops on a subway, and is whisked away.Or, she can drive on a toll lane and get across the county in 20 to 25 minutes."Think about the impossible, take risks. Keep going," said Hasan Ikhrata, the San Diego Association of Government's executive director. Ikhrata and his team unveiled its transit vision for the region Friday, with a target completion of 2050.The goal is to take the reliance off the car or make it more efficient for drivers with lanes that can change purposes based on traffic patterns. Still, it will come at a cost: 7 billion."It's expensive but I think it's worth the investment," Ikhrata said. "I think it's more expensive not to do it than to do it."Ikhrata says the plan will have to go to a public vote, and that it could involve a tax increase. But, he said federal and state governments would match every dollar spent locally with nearly two and a half of their own.Friday's presentation to the SANDAG board of directors was entirely informational, so there was no vote.The agency's staff will return in December with more details on projects and schedules. 1277

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police Wednesday arrested a woman they say vandalized a church Monday afternoon. Kelly Duggan, 26, was arrested after police say she caused more than ,000 worth of damage to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.10News Reporter Bree Steffen Reach out Duggan, who agreed to a jailhouse interview. Duggan told us that she's in an emotional state, heartbroken over her mother's death. "I don't know what's going on anymore, and that's what's making me mad," she said. "I'll still pay for it, that's fine."According to authorities, Duggan threw a wooden kneeler at a Plexiglas window protecting a religious shrine, breaking both the kneeler and the glass.Duggan also destroyed several flower vases decorating the shrine before leaving the church, police say. She was arrested for felony vandalism after being spotted in Barrio Logan.Duggan said she didn't vandalize the church out of disrespect or hate for the faith. The church told 10News they caught Duggan's action on their surveillance cameras but didn't share the video because they worried that people who saw might harm her. Duggan had this message for the church: "Thank you for forgiving me, you know, out of the kindness of your heart."  1265

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are investigating after a body was found in Mission Valley Tuesday morning. Police say the body of a 67-year-old man was found on the 8800 block of Friars Road near the Rio Vista Shopping Center at 8:46 a.m. The victim had endured stab wounds to his upper torso, according to police.
