"I try to make sure I get a workout in, although there have been periods throughout this quarantine, where I just have felt too low."Obama’s podcast launched at the end of July, her episode on Wednesday was about “Protests and the Pandemic.” She told her guest she has not always felt like getting on the treadmill or waking up at a regular time each morning.“You know, it's a direct result of just being out of, out of body, out of mind. And spiritually, these are not, they are not fulfilling times, spiritually. You know, so I, I know that I am dealing with some form of low-grade depression. Not just because of the quarantine, but because of the racial strife, and just seeing this administration, watching the hypocrisy of it, day in and day out, is dispiriting,” Obama said on her podcast.She then talked about how her family has tried to keep a schedule, to stop what they are doing at 5 p.m. each day and come together to “do an activity” before getting dinner and ready and sitting down as a family.Covid-19 fatigue and a feeling of being overwhelmed is really common right now. Three of America's largest grocery chains, Kroger, Walmart and Wegmans, have joined ALDI and Target in issuing a recall for peaches in connection with a nationwide Salmonella outbreak.On Saturday, Prima Wawona expanded a recall of peaches shipped by the company to include those bagged and loose peaches that had been sold across the country.The new recall includes Kroger stores and its affiliates — including Jay-C, King Soopers, City Market. Fry's, Ralphs, Food 4 Less, Foods Co. and Smiths — as well as peaches sold at Walmart and Wegmans.The possibly contaminated fruit was sold between June 1 and Aug. 3Consumers should not eat the peaches. Instead, the CDC says to throw them away, even if some of them were eaten and no one has gotten sick.Once the peaches have been discarded, health officials suggest washing and sanitizing the places where the produce was stored, like countertops, refrigerator drawers and shelves. The CDC also urged restaurants, retailers, suppliers and distributors not to sell or ship the recalled peaches.The FDA also advises that anyone who doesn't remember when they purchased Prima Wawona peaches or those that aren't sure who supplied their peaches should throw away peaches in their fridge out of an abundance of caution.As of August 19, 2020, CDC is reporting a total of 68 Salmonella cases across nine states.The CDC is investigating to find the source of contamination and to identify other retailers that may have sold tainted peaches.Symptoms of Salmonella infection include:Most people infected with Salmonella develop diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps six hours to six days after being exposed to the bacteria.The illness usually lasts four to seven days, and most people recover without treatment.In some people, the illness may be so severe that the patient needs to be hospitalized. There are currently only a few treatments in helping to fight COVID-19, and one is antibodies from a Coronavirus survivor. But gay men wanting to donate are being faced with hurdles.A donation ban started with a 1980s restriction in the height of the AIDS and HIV crisis when the federal government created a lifetime ban on blood donations from gay men.The rule was replaced in 2015 with a regulation that requires a year of abstinence to donate blood.In April of this year, the FDA revised the abstinence period for gay men to donate blood or plasma from 12 months to three months in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.Chris Sanders with the Tennessee Equality Project says this is a start but these guidelines are not created equal."My call to action would be that the Congress of the United States will hold hearings on this rule and put pressure on the FDA to make this change," said Sanders.As the American Red Cross is pushing for more COVID-19 survivors to donate their antibodies to help sick patients, Sanders says some who are willing to help are being turned away."I talked to a gay man in East Nashville today who has survived COVID-19, and I asked him if the ban weren’t in place would you consider plasma donation and he said he would," said Sanders, "There are potential donors in Tennessee who would get turned away because of this unscientific, outdated FDA rule."Gay rights advocates say if this country wants to save more lives it will review what they call outdated policies.This story was originally reported by Kelsey Gibbs at WTVF. 1565

Thousands have signed two petitions asking the hometown of Chadwick Boseman to replace a Confederate monument with a statue of the late actor.One petition has garnered more than 14,000 signatures, and the other petition has over 7,000 signatures.Boseman lost his 4-year battle with colon cancer on Friday, his family said in a statement.Boseman portrayed Black icons Jackie Robinson and James Brown before finding fame as the Black Panther in several Marvel movies."Mr. Boseman is without question an American treasure, and his accolades go on and on," one of the petitions said about the late actor.
