(AP) — Bernie Sanders held an in-person campaign for the first time since the start of the coronavirus pandemic in March, heading to the battleground states of New Hampshire and Michigan to promote Joe Biden and soothe any lingering tensions between the Democratic Party's progressive and centrist wings. WESTLAKE, La. -- A fire broke out at a chemical plant in Westlake, Louisiana, as Hurricane Laura moved out of the state. Louisiana State Police responded to the scene Thursday and motorists were being advised not to travel on I-10 through Westlake as crews fought to put out the flames.State police say the fire involved a chlorine leak that originated from a BioLab chemical manufacturing facility.The BioLab plant was built in 1979 and manufactures trichloroisocyanuric acid, chlorinating granules and other chemicals used in such household cleaners as Comet bleach scrub and pool chlorine powder, The Associated Press reports. Trichloroisocyanuric acid and chlorine are potentially acutely toxic to people and animals if ingested or inhaled.As a result of the fire, residents in the Westlake, Moss Bluff and Sulphur area were advised to shelter in place until further notice, close their doors and windows, and turn off their air conditioning units.In a statement obtained by KATC, KIK Custom Products said the fire at their facility was the result of damage from the hurricane and a specialized team has been deployed to mitigate the impact of the incident. 1171

But Fauci cautioned that the data from that vaccine candidate has not been reviewed. The Moderna and Pfizer vaccines are showing an efficacy of 95%, and both vaccines had a near 100% effectiveness against severe coronavirus cases.While the first shot will offer some protection against the virus, Fauci says that the boost will give Americans “optimal” protection against the virus.“What you have is you get some degree, not optimal, but some degree of immunity a couple of weeks after the first dose,” Fauci said. “That's not optimal. After the second dose, you get optimal immunity anywhere from seven to 10 days after the second dose."As vaccine doses begin to make their way to health care workers and high risk patients, Fauci says it will be important for everyone, even those who are vaccinated, to still wear masks and conduct social distancing. Patti saw purple dots and rushed her daughter to the emergency room. “One of the doctors pulled me aside and said 'we believe your daughter had bacterial meningitis.' I said 'That’s not possible. I made sure Kim was vaccinated with the meningitis vaccine.'”She learned that Kim wasn't fully protected. "At the time, in 2012, when she got sick we didn’t have a Meningitis B vaccine in the United States so I couldn’t protect her with that.
