He has been studying the impeachment process since the Nixon years and said, whether or not a crime was committed, is not necessarily the point when it comes to impeachment. “The standard is not the criminal law,” Seidman said. “The standard is whether he is abusing the powers of his office and doing the job that he's supposed to do to make sure the laws are faithfully executed.” Most House Republicans have backed Trump and don’t appear to be budging. Based on all the testimony, the House Intelligence Committee will send any materials it collected and a report to the Judiciary Committee. The Judiciary Committee may hold its own public hearings or depositions. Those members will then decide if impeachment goes to the full House for a vote. Impeachment requires 218 members to vote for it – there are 233 Democrats in the House. If it passes, it moves to the Senate, where a trial is held, with Senators acting as the jury. There are 53 Republicans, 45 Democrats and two independents in that chamber – removal from office requires a two-thirds vote there. Despite those numbers, Professor Seidman cautions against trying to predict an outcome. “It's just a fool's errand to predict with any certainty how this will end,” he said. It’s a trend that can be seen at the Hayes Senior Wellness Center in Washington, D.C. That is where afternoons are a time to get up and strike in video game bowling. “It’s fun,” said 62-year-old Karen Glymph. “It brings you up, makes you laugh.” Glymph plays to win, even though video games are not what this generation grew up with. “We didn’t have this then,” she said. “Most everybody wanted to go outside. Now, they want to stay and play video games.” That is especially true for seniors, according to a new study by the AARP. “Gaming and technology – that's where we see a bigger shift,” said Alison Bryant, AARP senior vice president of research. How big is the shift? In 2016, about 40 million people over the age of 50 played video games monthly. By 2019, that number soared to more than 50 million. That means 44% of all seniors are now regularly playing video games. All of this is turning into big business, because the amount of money seniors spent on video games last year alone totaled billion. “I hope that the gaming industry is going to start taking a look at these numbers and saying, ‘wait a minute. There's really an opportunity here to increase our market share’ and to develop games that might be even more exciting for older adults,” Bryant said. A 14-year-old girl was killed and four others injured when falling rocks hit their car at the Glacier National Park in Montana.The rocks hit the top of the car Monday night and shattered the rear windshield. In addition to killing the girl, rocks also injured her parents and two other children in the vehicle, the park said in a statement.It estimated the rocks were between fist-sized and 12 inches in diameter along with enough debris from the rockfall to fill the bed of a pickup truck. The incident happened near the East Tunnel on the popular and mountainous Going-to-the-Sun Road.An ambulance that responded could not airlift the girl because of her unstable condition, the park said.Flight paramedics traveled with her using ground ambulance to Kalispell, Montana. She died while being transported to a local hospital, the park said."The two adults suffered significant bruises and were transported to area hospitals. The two other children in the vehicle had minor injuries and also went by ambulance to the hospital," the park said.The victims were visiting from Utah, and authorities will release their names once family notifications are complete. Going-to-the-Sun Road was closed briefly Monday night while crew cleared the rocks and a tow truck removed the vehicle.The last fatal injury from rockfall on the Going-to-the-Sun Road was in 1996 when a vehicle was struck, according to the park. 1417
