The Ohio Department of Agriculture issued a warning about an insect that could kill wine in Ohio. The spotted lanternfly can cause significant damage to some plants and has been seen in Pennsylvania. According to the Department of Agriculture, the insect is fond of grape and fruit trees, hops, blueberry, oak, pine, poplar and walnut. Adult spotted lanterflies usually eat grapevines, while nymphs eat multiple types of plants. The insects eat stems and leaves, which can cause sap to bleed and reduce photosynthesis, which can eventually kill the plant.Spotted lanternflies can be spotted now through November. The insect can be identified by its red body, roughly a half-inch in size, with black stripes and white dots. Later this summer until November, the insect is in the adult moth stage. The adults are larger, roughly one inch in size, with black bodies and brightly colored wings. The insect has not been confirmed in Ohio yet but residents who believe they have spotted one are asked to report it online or by calling 614-728-640. View this post on Instagram March 25th 2020 ?? We held a small ceremony and I married my best friend. There are no words to describe the amount of love and light in my heart right now. We’ve planned this beautiful day for nearly a year and had to change everything, as we didn’t have guests at our wedding. This was a very difficult decision but important to keep everyone safe. We wish all of our friends and family could have been there with us, however it’s lovely that we will be able to share photos and videos. Right now we’re encouraging the world to hold onto hope and love, which will carry us forward during this profound time in history. Today we celebrated life and revelled in every beautiful moment we shared together in our Australia Zoo gardens. Mum helped me get ready, Robert walked me down the aisle, Chandler became my husband and together we lit a candle in Dad’s memory. We shared tears and smiles and love. Thankfully, since we all live at Australia Zoo as a family, we could be there for each other. To everyone reading this - stay safe, social distance and remember LOVE WINS! An elaborate table is set, and Argentinian tango music fills the room in Mirta Rinaldi’s apartment in NYC’s Queens. Her guests: five strangers, who came together to learn about the culture of Rinaldi’s home country of Argentina. “Cooking has been my passion all my life, so teaching this from my home and sharing my culture, it's a gift,” Rinaldi says.Rinaldi is just one of a network of 14 instructors who are part of the League of Kitchens, a group of immigrants from around the world who welcome strangers inside their homes. The experience allows those from other countries to impart their culture and family recipes onto eager students, regardless of their cooking ability.Rinaldi believes that when people learn about someone’s culture, they learn to respect each other's differences. That’s why she opens up her home to strangers every Sunday. “I love it,” says Rinaldi, smiling. Learn more about the League of Kitchens 942

The longstanding 'Tribute in Light' tradition is back on with a new partner, according to that group's CEO.Frank Siller, CEO of Tunnel to Towers, told PIX11 News Friday that his group will put on the annual towers of light on Sept. 11, 2020. It had been previously canceled earlier in the week due to COVID-19 concerns for crews that put on the tribute. No other details were available, other than that the tribute is a "done deal," a foundation spokesperson said. They did not elaborate. The Tunnel to Towers website said Friday, “The foundation is doing everything in its power to make sure that the towers of light will once again be illuminated.”The 'Tribute in Light' was canceled because of concerns over the coronavirus pandemic, 9/11 Memorial and Museum spokesman Michael Frazier said. The annual reading of the names was also recently canceled. It is put on annually by the 9/11 Memorial and Museum.“The world’s beloved twin beams of light regrettably will not shine over lower Manhattan as part of this year's tributes to commemorate 9/11," Frazier said. "This incredibly difficult decision was reached in consultation with our partners after concluding the health risks during the pandemic were far too great for the large crew required to produce the annual Tribute in Light."Nearly 40 people usually work in close proximity for several weeks to produce the 'Tribute in Light' each year. The 9/11 Memorial and Museum planned to partner with NYC & Company and buildings throughout the city to light up their facades and spires in blue in commemoration of the 19th anniversary of 9/11."In a spirit of unity and remembrance, the city will come together for a 'Tribute in Lights' to inspire the world and honor the promise to never forget," Frazier said.Nearly 3,000 people were killed on Sept. 11, 2001 when hijacked planes slammed into the World Trade Center. Bubba Wallace has found his voice as an activist. He hopes to bring more Black fans into NASCAR as he emerges as a leader in the sport. He would like some of his newfound fame to lead to an influx of sponsorship to fund the No. 43 Chevrolet for Richard Petty Motorsports. He’s grateful NASCAR released the photo of the rope found in the speedway garage stall. NASCAR President Steve Phelps stated “the noose was real” as it concluded its investigation. Wallace says he is bothered that “somebody still knows how to tie a noose."In an interview with reporters on Friday, Wallace was asked about a Confederate flag being flown over the track on Sunday. “It’s the right for peaceful protests,” Wallace said. “It’s part of it. But you won’t see them inside of the race tracks where we’re having a good time with the new fans that have purchased their tickets and purchased their favorite driver’s apparel. You won’t see it flying in there. Outside, they’re just going to be making a lot of noise. It’s part of it. It’s exactly what you see on the flip side of everything going on in cities as they peacefully protest. But we won’t see cops pepper-spraying them and shooting them with rubber bullets, will you?”Wallace's crew reported on Sunday finding a noose hanging from a garage stall at Talladega Superspeedway. Before Monday's race, drivers and crew members stood in solidarity with Wallace. Fellow drivers pushed Wallace’s car to the front of the field moments before the race got underway.Wallace became the first Black full-time NASCAR Cup Series driver in 2018 in more than four decades. He instantly found success as a full-time driver, finishing as the runner-up of the 2018 Daytona 500.Amid national unrest over the death of George Floyd, Wallace called for the ban of Confederate symbols from NASCAR events. NASCAR announced two weeks ago that Confederate flags would no longer be permitted at its tracks.Despite the ban, multiple Confederate flags were seen flying outside of the raceway, according to photos shared by the Associated Press. 2073
