SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A group of friends from Del Norte High School in 4S Ranch have turned their summer boredom into a way to help others.Andrew Zhang, Jerry Wu, Nick Genovese and Rishi Peddakama are 3D printing face shields and donating them to local hospitals."I guess we were all just kind of feeling like restless and we needed to do something during this like difficult time," Zhang says on why he and his friends decided to start making PPE from scratch. The boys have turned their summertime hobby into a new non-profit, Shield Our Health Heroes. Their website has a place for donations, and all of the money goes towards materials for more face shields. So far, they've raised enough money to donate 750 face shields to 10 local hospitals."We've been told multiple times that our shields fit better and are better quality than a lot of the shields that they're getting," says Genovese."I really think we are making an impact in our community," adds WU. "Our products are actually really helping these health care workers who need these."The four friends each brought their unique talents to the group effort. Andrew came up with the idea and has spearheaded the project. Rishi built the website and set up the donation PayPal account. Jerry does all of the social media and advertising. Nick contacts the hotels and sets up the deliveries."We try to make it hassle free for them," says Peddakama."We just really want to give back during this time," says Zhang. "And this helps make sure they're staying safe as well." 1529

He said the county is adding more food inspections throughout the county.Health officials did not identify the four restaurant employees who contracted the disease or where they work.A spokesperson with Albertsons Companies confirmed to 10News on Saturday that an employee of an Escondido grocery store tested positive for COVID-19.INTERACTIVE MAP: Confirmed coronavirus cases in San Diego CountyAlbertson's Public Affairs Director Melissa Hill told 10News that the employee is receiving care and has not worked at the store since March 24. Hill said the Escondido store has been through multiple sanitizing and disinfecting cycles, and used third-party expert service.Dr. Eric McDonald, the county's medical director of epidemiology, said there are no pending COVID-19 tests of staff at Albertson's, but any workers who present symptoms of the virus will be sent home.Employers are urged to call 858-505-6814 to report any sick workers. 1549

SAN DIEGO (KGTV and CNS) - President Trump will visit San Diego in March to view the border wall prototypes, according to the Washington Post.Trump will get a first-hand look at the eight 30-foot tall prototyles in Otay Mesa and attend a Republic National Committee fundraiser in Los Angeles. It will be Trump's first to California since he was elected, The Washington Post reported.RELATED: Federal officials view border wall prototypesThe exact date of the trip was not released but the newspaper reported it would happen in mid-March.Trump last week lashed out at what he called California officials' "lousy management" and threatened to pull federal immigration agents out of the state."They're doing a lousy management job, they have the highest taxes in the nation and they don't know what's happening out there. Frankly it's a disgrace, the sanctuary city situation, the protection of these horrible criminals," Trump said.INTERACTIVE TIMELINE: President Trump's border wallThe wall prototypes represent the signature promise of Trump's campaign: To build a "big, beautiful wall" along the U.S.-Mexico border. He has so far been unsuccessful in his attempts to have Mexico pay for the wall, as he had promised, nor has he been able to secure billion for the project from Congress, which would pay for 300 miles of new barriers and the replacement of 400 miles of existing fencing, according to The Post. 1455
