ANAHEIM, Calif. (KGTV) - Wonder what it feels like to soar above the "Star Wars" universe? Well now, you can — at least what's been constructed in Anaheim thus far.Disneyland's "Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge" expansion is slated to open next year and drone footage captured by the park shows the land taking shape.Steel frames of the galactic planet of Batuu have started to tower over the park. Americans aren’t exercising like they used to.“I’ve definitely been walking a whole lot less since the coronavirus hit,” Nathan Martin said.With social distancing orders put into place, the pandemic has many people spending more time at home.“I was a little bit less active and more Netflix,” Hannah Hockensmith said.Now, a new study is showing this drop in physical activity is increasing health concerns across the globe.“COVID-19 is a worldwide phenomenon unlike anything else we’ve seen in generations,” said Dr. Geoff Tison, a cardiologist at the University of California, San Francisco.Tison recently finished a new study using smartphone apps to track the step counts from almost half a million people in countries worldwide.The data was collected from mid-January to early June and the findings show the world is walking a lot less.“Within the first month of the pandemic, declaration activity decreased by about 27%,” he said.Tison says this lack of physical activity could damage people’s health, especially in older adults.“With decreased activity, increased sitting on the couch, just not being as active is muscle mass can start to decrease as can bone density,” he said.In America, the study shows the biggest drop in step counts happened in New York City while Dallas had the smallest decrease.“The changes in activity seem to reflect adherence to social distancing at least to a degree,” Tison said.To increase exercise indoors, Tison says is all about thinking outside the box.“You can do similar exercises, work similar muscles with things around the house,” he said. “Use a gallon of milk instead of a dumbbell.”To exercise outdoors, however, Tison believes changes need to happen at the city and state levels.“Policy makers, governments need to be creative understanding that people are humans and want to be active and want do things,” he said. “But to enable them to do that safely.” 1913

Amid a resurgence of coronavirus cases nationally, the CDC said it expects to see coronavirus-related deaths increase in 11 states through July 24.The states on the CDC’s radar are Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming. The CDC said these 11 states will likely exceed the number reported over the last four weeks.The rest of the country should see either the same or fewer deaths related to the coronavirus over the next four weeks.The CDC projects that 11,000 to 31,000 Americans will die from the coronavirus between now and July 24. 607

(KGTV) - "Toy Story" fans will be "eternally grateful" when they visit Disneyland's Tomorrowland this summer.In honor of Pixar Fest, the park will transform Redd Rocket's Pizza Port into "Toy Story's" Alien Pizza Planet, featured prominently in the Pixar animated movies.Pizza Planet is most memorable for its host of little green aliens who worshipped "the claw" (a claw machine) and expressed gratitude upon their rescue from the pizza place (repeating "we are eternally grateful.")RELATED: Several Downtown Disney businesses to close for 700-room hotelAmong the delicious pizza additions will be a specialty pepperoni-green pepper pizza and cheeseburger pizza. As Americans slowly return to work, older workers are finding the current economic situation much harder to navigate than their younger counterparts.Many large companies, including the airlines, are offering early retirement packages. For older workers, those buyouts come with uncertainty for their financial future.“These are tough times, especially for older workers,” said Susan Weinstock with the AARP.Weinstock’s concern is older workers are being forced out of work without enough saved for retirement. According to AARP, half of full-time workers experience job loss after the age of 50. It typically takes them double the time to get back into the work force as it does a younger worker, and even if they find a job, they end up making less money.For those over the age of 50 who have suddenly lost their job because of COVID-19, there's also less time to make up retirement savings that were lost.“We know saving through work is the best way to save for retirement, and when you don’t have that option it makes it a lot harder,” Weinstock said.Weinstock's advice if you're over the age of 50 and out of work is to use this time to upscale or re-scale. She suggests finding an online class. Showing employers that you're a lifelong learner can make you more marketable.“We want to make sure older workers are able to recover from this, along with everybody else in the economy,” Weinstock added.For those working from home, Weinstock recommends taking the money you might have spent on commuting and putting it into your retirement account. 1557
