GUANGZHOU, China, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- The China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative can dovetail with Australia's strategy to develop its northern region in a way which benefits both countries, a former Australian trade minister said here Wednesday.
Under a "twin pillar" framework, the central bank has established a macro-prudential assessment framework to regulate financial institutions, and increasingly relied on monetary tools, like open market operations for liquidity management, rather than adjustments in interest rates or reserve requirement ratios.
"Whatever changes may take in China's development and the international landscape, China will stand by the developing countries including African countries and be their sincere friend and reliable partner," Xi said.
To raise the quality and quantity of its college graduates, China lifted the college enrollment ratio from less than 10 percent in the 1990s to 42.7 percent last year. This, together with measures to attract "sea turtles" and overseas talent, ensures innovative and entrepreneurial talent for the country's high-tech sectors.
Xi said that members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee should take the lead in fostering the right attitude on performance evaluation, always be honest, and consciously resist formalities for formalities' sake and bureaucratism.
