(KGTV) -- Adults in their mid-20s are now more likely to live with a parent than with a spouse, according to an Apartment List report. Using data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the report found that 50 years ago, 76 percent of 26-year-olds in America lived with their spouse. Today, only 24 percent of 26-year-olds live with a spouse while they are more likely to live with a parent. The bureau also found that 17 percent of 26-year-olds live with an unmarried partner, 15 percent live with a non-family roommate and 10 percent live alone. In 2007, the year before the collapse of the housing market bubble, the composition of housing began to change.According to Apartment List, the economic recession, ballooning student debt and lack of affordable housing in cities with job opportunities placed pressure on young adults who, in previous generations, would have been able to start their own households. So what about the future? Apartment List says it expects the trend to continue as housing costs skyrocket. As rents rise, the site says roommates and co-living arrangements will become even more appealing. Despite the discouraging trend, there are solutions. A housing development in the South Bay aims to give San Diego renters a better chance to become homeowners. For those who are teachers, San Diego could begin to build affordable housing for employees and teachers struggling to make ends meet. The solutions come as San Diego home sales rise after a steady decline. 1486

(CNN) -- Retired NFL fullback Le'Ron McClain took to Twitter Saturday to plead for help dealing with head and brain troubles he said have resulted from playing football. In a series of emotional and expletive-filled tweets, McClain said his brain is tired and he needs to get his "head checked.""Need to tell my story of how my head is crazy and how football did it," McClain wrote. "Please someone help me get this out the @NFL puts paperwork in out (sic) faces and thats it."Reports show an increasing number of retired NFL players who have suffered repetitive hits to the head have developed memory and cognitive issues such as dementia, Alzheimer's, depression and chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). CTE is a degenerative disease of the brain and is associated with repeated head traumas like concussions. The NFL acknowledged a connection between football and CTE for the first time in 2016 and has since rolled out initiatives intended to increase the game's safety and to prevent and treat head injuries. But McClain said he hasn't received the treatment he needs and called on the NFL for help."I have to get my head checked. Playing fullback since high school. Its takes too f*****g much to do anything. My brain is f*****g tired.... @NFL i need some help with this s**t. Dark times and its showing. F*****g help me please!!" McClain tweeted.McClain was a fourth-round pick in the 2007 draft from the University of Alabama. He played seven seasons in the league for the Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs and San Diego Chargers. He played the majority of his career -- four seasons -- with the Ravens. He speculated on Twitter that he would have had an easier time getting assistance if he had played quarterback, a higher profile position."Watch how fast they come to aid if I was som3 QB or anything but no I was f*****g fullback that did it all," McClain tweeted. "@NFL I need help and i need the process to speed the f**k up."He later tweeted that he'd "had a moment.""Just know Imma fight this thing and block it like im blocking 60 Pwr on the goaline. We gonna score!!!! I got this," he tweeted. 2121

(KGTV) — Disney officials say the company's California parks are prepared to reopen as soon as the state gives guidance for theme parks to open their doors.During a roundtable discussion with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday, Disney World’s chief operating officer Jim MacPhee said the California theme parks are "ready to roll" once they are given the chance to reopen.“Disneyland has been ready to roll since July awaiting guidance from the state's governor on what the reopening protocols will be,” said MacPhee.RELATED: SeaWorld San Diego prepares to reopen with Zoo Days eventOfficials from Universal Studios who were also at the roundtable echoed the same preparedness."We're awaiting our park in Hollywood, as with Disney and SeaWorld, with respect to the state of California and the governor and when we'll be able to reopen. We've done the same process in terms of getting our protocols ready," said Universal Orlando CEO John Sprouls. Disneyland, California Adventure, and Universal Studios have all been shuttered since March due to the pandemic. Disney officials had rolled out a phased reopening plan and safety measures in June with the assumption they would have guidance by July, but delayed the plans when it became clear the state was not issuing guidance anytime soon.MacPhee said one of the challenges is convincing state leadership, and eventually potential guests, that the parks' safety precautions to prevent to spread of COVID-19 will be effective."I think it's driving awareness, driving a strong focus on how safe our environment is, and having people roll in," MacPhee said.SeaWorld officials were also present at the meeting. The park announced this week that it will reopen its San Diego park on a limited basis with Zoo Days every Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event has a limited capacity and guests must purchase a ticket online to reserve their visit. 1918

(KGTV) - A man identified as the son of San Diego convicted sex offender Matthew Hedge was arrested on child molestation charges Wednesday. 34-year-old Shaun Crocker, born as Shaun Hedge, is suspected of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department."Crocker knew the 13-year-old victim and at this time no other victims have come forward," officials said.He is being held on million bail and is due in court Thursday.Crocker has a history of at least 15 criminal arrests in San Diego and Texas dating back to 2003. None of the accusations were linked to sexual conduct; Crocker was arrested on suspicion of fraud, burglary, and taking a vehicle for a joyride, among other reported crimes. The alleged victim's mother said Crocker is Matthew Hedge's son.Matthew Hedge was convicted in 1989 of molesting two girls and two boys in San Diego. He was treated at a state hospital and released to San Diego County in 2005. Hedge was originally placed on the grounds of Donovan State Prison in Otay Mesa but returned to the hospital less than a year later after admitting he spoke to girls and had a deviant fantasy about a child. After his second release, restrictions on where Matthew Hedge was allowed to live were lifted and he moved to a downtown residential hotel with his wife. 1343
