SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - An autopsy report released Friday by the San Diego County Medical Examiner indicated a young woman who died after being arrested by San Diego Police had PCP, THC, morphine, and meth in her system. The Medical Examiner determined Aleah Jenkins, 24, died of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, due to resuscitated cardiopulmonary arrest while in custody and acute methamphetamine and fentanyl toxicity. Jenkins was arrested during a traffic stop in University City on Nov. 27. Officers determined she was wanted on an outstanding warrant for meth possession and arrested her. They also found a bag of methamphetamine in the car, according to the autopsy report. During the traffic stop, police called paramedics because Jenkins vomited. She said it was due to an upset stomach, and officers said they canceled the ambulance call. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- After a 12-cent sales tax hike went into effect, people were wondering why the price of gas kept increasing. “I probably spend about ,000 a month on gas,” Jim Miller said. "I have a landscape maintenance business so my gas bill a month is, you know, it affects me.”Now experts say San Diego has some of the highest gas prices in the country, even more expensive than Hawaii. RELATED: Check gas prices in your areaMarie Montgomery of the Auto Club of Southern California says it's probably a rare combination of higher than normal demand in October, higher oil prices, and some refinery maintenance that was put off because of Hurricane Harvey. “Came together in a perfect storm," Montgomery said. "Then we had that tax increase on top of it and all the sudden 24 cents later, we’re where we are now. We’re paying higher prices right now than we have been in over two years.”Montgomery says they are hoping prices go down and level out again by the New Year at the very latest.  1032

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - After losing her son in 2015, a San Diego mother devoted herself to making sure all veterans and fallen service members were honored. Brenda Kaesler says she first learned about Wreaths Across America (WAA) when she laid her son Jeffrey to rest. "He had the best smile of anyone I've ever seen. He just lit up the room. And of course that's a mother talking, but other people have said the same thing!" said Brenda. RELATED: Active military members deliver food to veteransJeffrey was a combat medic in the Army, serving a tour in Afghanistan and also Iraq. Brenda says Jeffrey suffered a traumatic brain injury in Iraq, which lead to a brain aneurysm and his death several years later. "He wanted to help, and after he got out, he said he would go back and do it all over again, just like so many of them do." RELATED: Strangers fulfill San Diego veteran's wish ahead of Honor FlightBrenda now works as a location coordinator for WAA at Miramar National Cemetery. Each year the nonprofit raises money to put wreaths on the graves of veterans and fallen service members. Eight San Diego cemeteries participate in the annual event, meaning 140,339 wreaths are needed.RELATED: A 94-year-old veteran died after one last trip to see his family and the country he lovedRight now, the San Diego chapter is only about 7.5% to goal. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A shortage of labor is creating big problems for San Diego farmers. According to the San Diego Farm Bureau, the slowing workforce is expected to impact local farmers and the price we pay at the grocery store. The bureau says the problem stems from an aging work force, the lack of an easy-to-navigate visa program, and the cost of living in San Diego County. There is a visa program available, but for San Diego’s smaller farmers, the process is complicated and expensive. Created in 1986, the H-2A visa was designed to help understaffed farmers hire foreign workers. The problem? The visa program requires farmers to pay its H-2A employees a set minimum wage, .92 per-hour in California. Farmers are also required to provide housing, food and transportation to H-2A workers. California isn’t alone, other states like Idaho are also struggling to find help.According to an Idaho newspaper – The Post Register, a recent migrant shortage and costs associated with the program are forcing some farms out of business. Although times are tough for farmers in San Diego, the bureau says there is a solution – creating a boiled down visa program that simplifies things for farmers and the workers they need. Friday morning on 10News at 6, Kalyna Astrinos takes a deeper look at the impact on San Diego farmers and the decisions they face in the midst of the shortage. 1392

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- An hours-long SWAT standoff involving a domestic violence suspect in Point Loma came to an end Thursday night. Police were called to the 2200 block of Caminito Pescado around 4:45 p.m. after receiving a call from a neighbor. Police say a woman who lives in the home ran to the neighbor’s house reporting that she and her 71-year-old husband got into a fight. Police and SWAT responded and found the man on the second floor balcony of the condo. After trying to get the 71-year-old down from the balcony, police say he ran inside before a gunshot could be heard coming from the home. Neighbor Jenny Taylor spoke with 10News on FaceTime, saying she could see officers lined up with their weapons drawn from her patio. She said she was ready for the worst, "let me move it so we can at least duck down really quick and hit the floor and run inside the house, so we left the screen door open and moved all the chairs out of the way."It was hours before police and SWAT packed up.Authorities later found the man dead inside. According to police, records show authorities had never been previously called to the home. An investigation into the incident is currently underway. If you're contemplating suicide, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255). There is also a crisis text line. For crisis support in Spanish, call 1-888-628-9454. 1388
