(AP) — Fed up with dog poop being left around, board members at a Maryland condominium complex are now relying on DNA samples to police unscooped feces.Jeanne Fisher, the general manager for The Residence at Park Place Condominium, tells The Capital newspaper that she came across "doggie DNA" as an option when residents began complaining about unscooped poop. The Annapolis complex had tried emails, dog meetings, fines and a security camera in the dog park. The condo association spent about ,500 on pet DNA kits and about 20 owners began providing samples. Fisher says a sample is taken if someone hasn't cleaned up after their pet.If matched, a fine will be levied along with about in costs if the association decides to send a specimen to a lab for testing. 790
American Airlines is dropping flights to 15 U.S. cities in October when a federal requirement to serve those communities expires. American said Thursday that it would consider other changes unless the federal government provides more money to the embattled airline industry. The airline company said the suspensions would go in effect on Oct. 7. For now, they are only in place for the October period, which runs through Nov. 3.The decision appears designed to put pressure on Congress and the Trump administration to approve another billion in relief for passenger airlines, which have seen traffic plummet during the coronavirus pandemic. American has already received .8 billion and has applied for an additional federal loan of .9 billion. 759

An airline employee stole a passenger plane Friday from the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and flew it for an hour with military jets chasing him, pulling off aerobatic stunts before crashing in a wooded island 25 miles away, authorities said. The 29-year-old Horizon Air ground service agent -- the only person aboard -- died, the Pierce County Sheriff's Department said, without further identifying him.The incident, which the FBI's Seattle office did not consider terrorism, raises questions about airport security. Investigators headed Saturday to the crash site to recover the plane's data recorders and the man's remains as part of a criminal probe, authorities said. 686
