PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) — Hurricane Marco is heading across the Gulf of Mexico on a path toward the Louisiana coast.Tropical Storm Laura battered the Dominican Republic and Haiti and is headed to the same part of the U.S. coast, also as a potential hurricane. On Sunday, President Donald Trump said his administration was closely monitoring both hurricanes and that they had FEMA lined up and the Coast Guard ready to go. Trump added that he had approved emergency declarations for Puerto Rico as well as Louisiana.It appears the storms will avoid being hurricanes simultaneously — something that researchers say has never happened in the Gulf of Mexico at least since records began being kept in 1900. The National Hurricane Center says Marco was about 240 miles (390 kilometers) south-southeast of the mouth of the Mississippi River late Sunday afternoon. POWAY, Calif. (KGTV) -- A Poway family is desperately searching for their beloved cat who was last seen getting into a car with an Amazon delivery driver Monday night. Rachael Dominguez shared her doorbell camera footage with 10News which shows Cofi the Siamese cat interacting with the driver on the front porch. Another angle shows the same driver and the cat getting into a car and driving away.Dominguez contacted the Poway Sheriff's Department and Amazon. The company told her the driver says he thought Cofi was a stray and was trying to help but the cat jumped out of his car at a later stop.The driver says Cofi jumped out around Cree Court in Poway. Dominguez is asking people living in that area to keep an eye out for the cat. 746

POWAY, Calif., (KGTV)-- Fire crews battled a house fire in Poway Sunday afternoon after neighbors heard hissing sounds and an explosion. Poway and San Diego Fire departments responded to the 13,000 block of Silver Saddle Lane after getting a 9-1-1 call at around 1:15 pm. When crews arrived, they found the side of the home on fire. "The fire was just on the garage and the exterior of the garage. It appears it did not make it into the house," Poway Fire Battalion Chief Ray Fried said. Batt. Chief Fried said the methane levels were too high, above 0 ppm, which meant his fire crews needed to stand down until SDG&E cleared the gas leak. "We're not going inside at this time, because the gas readings are fairly high inside the house," Batt. Chief Fried said. No one was inside the home at the time of the explosion. What are they and how do they work together?We went to a medical expert to try to get some clarity.“About 48 hours ago the president received a special antibody therapy directed against the coronavirus, working closely with the companies and monitoring him,” said Navy Commander Dr. Sean Conley. “Yesterday he received Remdesivir, and the plan is to continue a five-day treatment course for Remdesivir.”What is Remdesivir?Dr. Mangala Narasimhan, who’s been at Northwell Health for 13 years and has treated hundreds of COVID-19 patients explains.“Remdesivir is an anti-viral agent and it attacks the virus with hopes of making it less lethal and deadly," she said. "If you give Remdesivir early in the course before patients are really sick, you can prevent them from progressing on to a higher level of illness.”Doctors have recently been using the anti-viral drug on COVID-19 patients, but not the antibody cocktail produced by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals the president is also taking, because it hasn’t been FDA-approved.“Basically what your body does when it sees a virus it produces an antibody, so this is taking an antibody that was produced and cloning it so that produced in higher levels and giving it directly to you,” said Dr. Narasimhan. "The anti-viral cocktail is new, started developing in June, is not FDA-approved but they got it through a compassionate use for the president.
