Federal officials are searching for a Detroit man charged in United States District Court for allegedly putting a GPS devices under his ex-girlfriend's vehicle.According to federal court documents, Shawn Kelly Thomason was charged with stalking in the Minnesota federal court. Officials asked that he be detained because of a danger to the community and a flight risk. However, Thomason was released on bond and is on the run after failing to appear at a court hearing.The federal order said that Thomason traveled across state lines on Dec. 6, 2018, for the purpose of "placing the victim under surveillance with the intent to kill, injure, harass, or intimidate her."According to the feds, Thomason allegedly traveled from Hazel Park to Mankato, Minn. to put a GPS tracker on his ex's car. Inside his rental vehicle, feds say there were many items that included bags designed to block cell signals, a loaded handgun and ammunition. 945
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A boy in Kent County, Michigan, brought his entire class with him Thursday morning as he received a gift just in time for the holidays: a forever home.Five-year-old Michael Orlando Clark Jr. wanted all his friends to see the moment he was officially adopted, so he brought them to 17th Circuit Court to cheer him on.His parents, Andrea Melvin and David Eaton, knew Michael was the right fit for their family after fostering."He brings us a lot of joy,” Melvin said. “He's just so full of energy and so full of love, it's just been great for everybody.”There was no shortage of love around them in the courtroom."It is a great tribute to Michael that he had so many of his classmates here and so many said he was their best friend too,” Michigan Supreme Court Justice Stephen Markman said.Judge Patricia Gardner said she had never experience something like that before.“Never have I experienced that before, and it was loads of fun, the kids were into it and supporting their best friend, and the family of Michael,” she said.After Thursday’s ceremony, Eaton said he hopes other families get to share the inspiring experience his has gone through.Thirty-six other kids were also adopted Thursday as part of the 23rd annual adoption day in Kent County. 1284

FORT PIERCE, Fla. — Parents of students at a Florida school are concerned after cell phone video shared on social media showed a Sheriff's deputy body-slamming a sixth-grade student outside of school in Fort Piece, Florida.The 15-second video shows a the school resource deputy at Lincoln Park Academy run after a sixth grade student outside the school Tuesday afternoon and slam him on the grass. Another video then shows the student in handcuffs walking away.According to an incident report, the confrontation between the student and deputy occurred on April 9.
