SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — FBI investigators are searching for a woman wanted in two grocery store bank robberies.The woman, described as a Caucasian blonde in her 20s standing about 5-feet 6-inches tall, is believed to be behind two heists in La Mesa and Rolando areas this month.On Sept. 12, investigators say the woman walked into a US Bank inside the Vons grocery store at 6155 El Cajon Blvd. just before 3 p.m. She presented a demand note to the teller and fled with an unknown amount of cash. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Deputies credited hikers for calling 911, saving a man who had fallen through the ice at Big Laguna Lake Sunday morning. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department received a call around 11:45 about a man who trapped in the lake after falling through ice. According to the department, the man, who is in his 60s, tried to ski on the ice, but fell in because the ice was too thin. A helicopter was able to quickly descend on the lake, lowering a flotation device down to the man. “He knew he didn’t have much more in him. He knew he had to get out of that water. He didn’t have much time,” Deputy Bill Liniewicz said. RELATED: Man dies on Lincoln Park sidewalk, police sayCal Fire and San Diego Sheriff’s Department all worked together on the rescue. Video from the scene shows a helicopter lowering a rescue device down to the man trapped in the water. Cal Fire took to social media following the incident to warn of the dangers near bodies of water as people swarm to see the recent snow that fell on the San Diego County mountains. “If visiting the snow please remember to stay away from all bodies of water and stay on designated trails,” the agency said. 1186

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Dozens of dogs affected by Hurricane Michael have a new home in San Diego.The San Diego Humane Society is taking in 93 dogs from various shelters impacted by the category 4 storm last week along the panhandle.The dog-only charter flight landed at Gillespie Field Thursday afternoon with dozens of volunteers helping unload them.The flight carried pets transferred from St. Joseph Bay Humane Society, the Escambia County Animal Shelter and the Humane Society of Bay County.The Humane Society says the dogs still need to be spayed, neutered and micro-chipped, but they hope to start adopting them out in two weeks. 649

Seven records were set, including:Escondido: 111 degrees (old record was 108 in 1984)Ramona: 112 degrees (old record was 102 in 2006)Alpine: 113 degrees (old record was 110 in 1984)El Cajon: 114 degrees (old record was 107 in 1984)Palomar Mountain: 97 degrees (old record was 96 in 1955)Campo: 108 degrees (old record was 104 in 1955)Borrego Springs: 117 degrees (old record was 113 in 1989)Poway unofficially set an all-time record of 113 degrees, but it falls out of the National Weather Services 30-year period of record.Temperatures across the county on Saturday were forecasted to hit as high as 122 while many coastal areas could see high 90s.Saturday into Sunday, overnight temperatures along the coast, inland, and mountain areas will hover in the 70s most of the night, and 90s and 80s in the deserts. A gradual return to cooler temperatures won't be in the mix until beginning Monday for coastal communities. Above normal temperatures are expected through next week. 1156
