(KGTV) — Surveillance video caught the moment a driver caused a fiery chain-reaction crash in a South Bay neighborhood.Chula Vista Police said five cars were involved in the crash at East Paisley Street and Monserate Avenue just after 6 p.m. Thursday. Five people were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.The crash started when a black truck hit a car, sending that vehicle into a parked car. The suspect of the black truck kept driving, hitting another car parked in a driveway that was being worked on by two people, knocking them unconscious. That car was sent into a nearby RV, injuring another person.Video from a resident's surveillance camera showed the truck send one man flying and the car into a concrete pillar, as it overturns and explodes into flames."I opened the door, and there was the car, it was on fire," said resident Priscilla Ramirez. "I'm still shaking from everything."Smoke and flames filled Ramirez's yard."I couldn't see my house, smoke and fire, smoke and fire all over my yard, couldn't see anything," Ramirez's brother, Adrian, said. "[Both men] were slurring and they were scared."The two suspects in the truck fled the scene, before later turning themselves in and receiving treatment for injuries at a hospital.The two suspects were arrested, but 10News is working to confirm what charges were filed against the pair. (KGTV) - An Eastlake pizza restaurant shut down Wednesday after an inspection turned up signs of rodent nests, droppings and urine.Filippi’s Pizza Grotto at 871 Showroom Place, near Otay Lakes Road and Hunte Parkway, received a primary inspection report April 18 from the San Diego County Department of Environmental Health.The inspector found 20 dried rodent droppings in a back oven and rodent nests in the panels of two ovens, County documents showed. There were also rodent droppings in utensil storage areas, beneath a stove, and dry storage areas, according to the report.The report indicated there were multiple holes in an exterior wall and a door leading to the outdoor trash area that building management had ordered to remain open.The County Dept. of Environmental Health conducted a second inspection the following day.The inspector reported six dried mouse droppings and two fresh rat droppings in dry storage on the building’s second floor, according to County documents.There was also dried urine on the plastic wrapper of cardboard pizza boxes and gnaw marks through plastic into boxes, the report said.The operator of Filippi’s told the inspector the restaurant had been deep-cleaned before the re-inspection.Filippi’s reopened Friday afternoon, according to County health officials. 1333

He suffered body aches, followed by a headache, fever, and a positive COVID-19 test. More than a week later, he sent a message to his wife, Wil, in the next room."He texted me that he was having trouble breathing," said Wil.She rushed him to the hospital. Days later, he suffered a stroke and was placed on a ventilator. Malacas, 45, passed away on July 11, leaving behind a wife, a grown son, and a 13-year-old daughter the couple adopted in December."He was my soulmate ... really said for me and my kids," said Wil.Wil's life is hardly the only one impacted. A Los Angeles Times headline recently noted that Filipinos are dying of COVID-19 at an "alarming rate." According to the report, data compiled reveals Filipino Americans account for more than 35% of COVID-19 deaths in the state's Asian population.
