NASHVILLE, Tennessee — A 22-year-old man was killed in a shooting at Opry Mills Mall, which caused chaos for shoppers inside.First responders initially answered a call of an active shooter in the mall, which prompted a heavy police presence, but they learned the call was not accurate once at the scene.The shooting happened inside the mall in a hallway near the Auntie Anne's pretzel shop across from Old Navy around 2:23 p.m. The victim was taken to Skyline Medical Center in critical condition where he later died.According to police officials, a dispute at the mall between two men ended in gunfire. The suspected shooter ran from the mall to a ticketing booth outside. He placed his gun on the booth counter and told the people inside to call 911. He then surrendered to police once they arrived.There was no additional imminent threat known. Both he and the victim are 22 years old and from Nashville.Some Metro Nashville Public Schools were placed on lockout for a short time including Two River’s Middle School, Pennington Elementary School, McGavock Elementary School, Stanford Montessori and Litton Middle School. It has since been lifted.Three students were still at the Academy at Opry Mills when the shooting happened and were able to get out and taken to McGavock High School.Opry Mills Mall spans 1,154,000 square feet with more than 200 stores. (KGTV) — A nursing student's trip to a Starbucks in National City turned into an knock-down struggle and dramatic chase in pursuit of her laptop.With three finals next week, nursing student Jacqueline Ang spent the Friday using a computer at a library Bonita. "Grateful for the resource, but it's not the same," said Ang, who is wrapping up her first year in the nursing program at Southwestern College.It's not the same, because it doesn't have what she really needs: a year of notes. "It's devastating," said Ang.On Monday afternoon, she was studying with her MacBook Pro at a busy Starbucks on E. Plaza Boulevard. "Both earphones are in listening to lectures. One hand on my laptop, and the other hand taking notes," said Ang.Ang says she was at a table near the middle of the Starbucks when an older black teen in a hoodie walked in, and right up to her. He unplugged her earphones and turned to her computer. "Grabs it by the screen, closes it and starts running," said Ang.As the man ran off, Ang screamed to get someone's attention. She then took off after him. "When he's at the door, I'm able to grab him by the hoodie and bring him down. I'm saying, 'Please don't take it. Please don't take it,'" said Ang.On the ground, a struggle unfolded. Ang weighs just over 100 pounds."It's all that's on my mind. 'Omigod, everything I worked hard for is on that thing. I need that. Ang chased the other man, who slipped into a van in the parking lot. She was close behind, opening a side door. "I see three or four people in the van. I was holding onto the handle, running with the car as they're moving," said Ang.A bystander's short video shows her being dragged, before she let go. The incident left her with a sprained wrist and no laptop, but one big clue. Because Ang made the thieves' plans go awry, a witness was able to get the license plate number.National City Police asked 10News not to release the license plate in order to not endanger the investigation. MUKWONAGO, Wis. -- Reporter Rikki Mitchell of Scripps' Milwaukee affiliate TMJ-4 was sent on a mission to find a rare white deer after reports of sightings from three residents.Mitchell went to Mukwonago to try to see the deer for herself, and decided to stream her search on Facebook Live. NAPLES, Fla. - Two people were killed after falling 70 feet when an elevator collapsed in Naples, Florida on Wednesday. Two construction workers were standing on a lift at Club Brittany of Park Shore, the Naples Fire Department said. They working on an outside elevator when the lift the construction workers were on collapsed and dropped 70 feet, they said.
