CBS Television Studios has released a statement after "NCIS" star Pauley Perrette implied that "multiple physical assaults" were the reason she quit the hit series. In a series of tweets earlier this week, Perrette -- who played forensic scientist Abby Sciuto -- talked about "tabloid articles out there that are telling total lies about me" and referenced her not "spilling the beans."She also mentioned "a very rich, very powerful publicity 'machine'" she also alleged was spreading false information about her before tweeting the reason she says she left."Multiple Physical Assaults," Perrette tweeted. "I REALLY get it now. Stay safe. Nothing is worth your safety. Tell someone."She left the long-running CBS crime drama after 15 seasons on the series in an episode aired last week."Pauley Perrette had a terrific run on NCIS and we are all going to miss her," CBS Television Studios wrote in a statement provided to CNN."Over a year ago, Pauley came to us with a workplace concern," the statement went on to say. "We took the matter seriously and worked with her to find a resolution. We are committed to a safe work environment on all our shows."The actress did not identify who she is accusing for the alleged assaults and CBS did not give details regarding the workplace concern.CNN has reached out to Perrette for additional comment.  1355

CHANDLER, Az. -- The Chandler Police Department in Arizona says it may file charges against Lori Daybell in connection to the death of her late husband, Charles Vallow, but that the decision to ultimately charge her will come from the prosecutor's office.Lori has since remarried and said in a court hearing that she prefers to be referred to by her new last name, Lori Daybell. In a statement, a spokesperson for the Chandler Police Department said "if and when" charges are sent over to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office, they will include conspiracy to commit murder."Ultimately, whatever charge is sent over to the prosecuting agency by the Chandler Police Department, it is at the decision of the prosecutor," the police agency said in its statement.Charles Vallow was killed last summer in Chandler. In January of 2019, he made a call to Gilbert police asking them to conduct a welfare check at their home because he hadn't heard from his children, JJ and Tylee, in the two days prior. He also told police that Lori had been acting strange. "She’s psychologically gone, something has happened to her," he told authorities.Six months later, in July 2019, Charles was killed. Lori's brother, Alex Cox, admitted to shooting Charles but claimed it was in self-defense. Cox died in December of natural causes, according to a medical examiner's report.Chandler police said Lori has always been a "person of interest" in her late husband's death, but it is clear she did not shoot him. They said if charges are filed it would likely happen in 4-6 months. An exact date has not been determined, police said.Chandler police added that detectives still have search warrants and subpoenas out on the case and are going through over "10,000 pieces of digital data."Charles and Lori's children, JJ and Tylee, were reported missing for about six months until June of 2020 when their remains were found buried in the backyard of Lori's current husband, Chad Daybell's home in Idaho. Both have been arrested and are facing various charges.A criminal complaint alleges that Daybell concealed the remains between Sept. 22, 2019, and June 9, 2020. Rexburg police in Idaho began the search for the children in November 2019.He is currently in jail awaiting trial on several criminal charges, including destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence. He has pleaded not guilty.Vallow is being held at a jail in Madison County, Idaho and is also charged with misdemeanor resisting or obstructing officers, criminal solicitation to commit a crime and contempt of court. She has pleaded not guilty to those charges. A jury trial is set for January 2021.This story was originally published by staff at KNXV. 2701

CARLSBAD, Calif. (KGTV) — Thursday's heavy storm caused significant damage in the North County Plaza shopping center in Carlsbad, particularly to Homeroom Hourly Child Care. Homeroom's owner tells 10News that current estimates are it will take six weeks to repair all the damage to the interior."I was pretty pessimistic last night," assistant director Erin Devries told 10News. "I just thought this place was a complete loss."RELATED: Video: Heavy rain leads to flooding across San Diego CountyDevries said there were seven or eight children present Thursday afternoon when one of the children noticed water leaking from the ceiling. Shorty after, tiles began falling from the ceiling, along with a deluge of rain. Out of fear of danger from a soaked electrical system, the teachers turned out the lights, then evacuated the children from the building, seeking shelter in the Orange Theory gym next door. They returned to the darkened building to save several pets, including snakes, lizards, and a chinchilla.RELATED: How San Diego's flooding compares to FEMA's historical hazard mapOnce the children were picked up, the staff returned to Homeroom to survey the damage and call a restoration company. A crew worked late into the night pumping out the water. While some of the infrastructure can be saved, many of the child care center's contents, such as toys and other play items, will need to be thrown away and replaced to ensure the safety of the children when they return."I feel hopeful now, " Devries said. "Seeing all the stuff they can fix. Six weeks sounds insanely long, but it's better than having to close down indefinitely."Devries says Homeroom's unexpected closure is putting their clients in a tough position. The parents are now scrambling to find alternative daycare options during the repairs. 1823

CARLSBAD, Calif. (KGTV) - More than two and a half years after Team 10 first reported about a North County property management company accused of stealing money from clients, the victims are finally getting their money back.Kelley Zaun owned Carousel Properties, a Carlsbad property management company. Victims first told Team 10 in 2016, they hired her to pay fees associated with their rentals. They said she did not pay those fees. She was accused of taking roughly 0,000 from victims, according to investigators. In 2018, Zaun faced 29 felonies for embezzlement, according to Deputy District Attorney Anna Winn. Zaun entered into a plea deal and agreed to a year in custody. With the help of the DA’s office, Zaun’s former clients were able to get their money back through the Department of Real Estate’s Consumer Recovery Account. RELATED: Team 10: Police investigating Carlsbad companyStephen Lerner, the Assistant Commissioner for Legal Affairs for the department, said so far, 23 victims have been reimbursed through the account. Other victims’ payments are still processing. They have been able to reimburse 2,084.68 thus far.The Consumer Recover Account is an option for fraud victims when trying to recoup money from the person who took it from them. In order to utilize the fund, Lerner said there must be a criminal or civil court order for the defendant to pay back money he or she took. If victims cannot get refunded from the person who stole it, they can apply through the Department of Real Estate (DRE).Winn said she volunteered to be the victims’ liaison with the DRE, as the process for reimbursement is lengthy and many of the victims were elderly. One of Zaun’s victims told Team 10 he is “extremely grateful” for the DA’s office work on this case. RELATED: Carlsbad company owner faces felonies for stealing moneyVictims started receiving reimbursements within the past couple of weeks. Money for the account comes from license fees. Lerner told Team 10 there are approximately 421,000 people with a license under their department, which includes broker and salesperson’s licenses. 12 percent of the license fee paid goes to the account.Since 1964, the DRE has paid more than million to victims. Approximately 54 percent of all applications are approved.RELATED: Homeowners: Carlsbad company owes them thousandsDistrict Attorney Summer Stephan told Team 10 in a statement: “In addition to a conviction and holding this defendant accountable, we also wanted to do our best to make the victims financially whole. Working closely with the Department of Real Estate, we were able to get a significant amount of money returned to victims and it’s gratifying to see the funds collected through real estate license fees used as intended— to un-do the financial damage done by the defendant in this case.” 2838

By now, most people know Hillary Clinton's big campaign mistake of 2016. The former Democratic nominee failed to hold a single campaign event in Wisconsin in the months prior to Election Day. President Donald Trump would go on to win the state. While Wisconsin was not expected to be a major swing state in 2016, that certainly has changed in 2020TRUMP SET TO RETURNPresident Donald Trump is set to return to the state on Thursday. He'll hold an official visit to the Fincantieri Marinette Marine shipyard in Marinette where he will discuss recent deals to build ships for the Navy. The president will also participate in a campaign event with Fox News in a town hall hosted by Sean Hannity. Trump's visit follows a campaign stop by Vice President Mike Pence on Wednesday, as part of his "Faith in America" tour.BIDEN CAMPAIGN EFFORTUnlike Clinton's 2016 effort, Joe Biden is expected to engage supporters in Wisconsin throughout the next five months. While Biden hasn't held official public events in Wisconsin since the pandemic began, he has granted interview opportunities to local television stations, like TMJ4 in Milwaukee. WHY WI IS IMPORTANTWhile every swing state to some degree could decide the election, in Wisconsin, that could actually be the case. If Trump wins the swing states of Arizona, Florida and North Carolina and Biden wins the swing states of Michigan and Pennsylvania, it would come down to Wisconsin. 1436
