SAN DIEGO (KGTV)- A mother from Sacramento is back in San Diego to search for her missing son, a San Diego State graduate who was living in Pacific Beach.Wesley Billingsly was last heard from on June 12, 2018. He was supposed to meet friends for dinner in Pacific Beach, but never showed up.Since then, there has been no sign of him.He is 5’8”, 130 pounds with hazel eyes and brown hair. He has several tattoos.Christel Billingsly, Wesley’s mother, has spent her days posting fliers, reaching out to people on social media, and keeping up with the San Diego Police missing person’s investigation into her son’s disappearance.“He was here actively driving these streets, going to that Vons to get gas,” she said while standing in a Vons parking lot on Garnet Avenue. “And then he just disappears?”She is offering a ,000 reward to anyone who helps bring her son home.“I know somebody that's reading these posters knows where my son is,” she said. “They need to speak up and tell me where he is because this is enough, it's enough.”Back in August, Christel Billingsley flew to San Diego from Sacramento and spent her son's 25th birthday searching for him.Police located his vehicle in the South Bay but that has been the only trace of him. After that Christel Billingsly made her way to Mexico to search for him.“I went and met with the police in Mexico, I had a translator with me,” she said. “I went and filed a missing report,” she also checked morgues and jails.She said her son had earned a degree in business administration and marketing from SDSU. He moved back home to Sacramento briefly to work and save enough money to return to San Diego.Once he returned, he was staying with different friends at homes in Pacific Beach as he looked for jobs.Christel pays her son’s cellphone bill and said the phone stopped showing any activity once he disappeared. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions discussed record-setting drug seizures in San Diego today.Rep. Duncan Hunter, Rep. Darrell Issa, and U.S. Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Paul Zukunft joined Sessions at the news conference at the Tenth Ave. Marine Terminal.Coast Guard officials offloaded more than 50,000 pounds of cocaine and heroin since the beginning of August. The drugs have a street value of almost 0 million."By preventing overdoses and stopping new addictions before they start, enforcing our drug laws saves lives," Attorney General Sessions said. "This record-breaking year by our Coast Guard saw the arrest of more than 600 suspected drug traffickers and kept nearly half a million pounds of dangerous drugs from getting to our streets--and ultimately to our neighbors, friends, and families."Adm. Zukunft said the Coast Guard has seized more than 455,000 pounds this year - more than all of last year."These drugs represent the scale of the threat transnational organized crime poses to our nation and to all peaceful nations of the Western Hemisphere," Adm. Zukunft said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Two girls were rescued at Sunset Cliffs by teenage bystanders on Friday after being swept out to sea.Local still photographer Jim Grant was hoping to capture the sunset at Sunset Cliffs Friday evening. But he got much more than just a beauty shot."There were some crazy things going on," Grant said.He ended up witnessing a cliff and water rescue."Two young girls ... They looked to be about 12 or 13," Grant said. "They were down at this point, and a large set came in and swept them off their feet.""The older one hit her head probably down on the reef and had a pretty serious head injury in the water," Lt. Andy Lerum with the San Diego Lifeguards said.Before first responders could arrive on the scene, two boys jumped into the water to help the girls. The two teenage boys worked to keep the girls above water until help arrived, lifeguards said, adding that their efforts were instrumental in saving their lives."It was big surf," Grant remembered. "The girls could not swim or couldn't swim very well, that's for sure. And it just could've been a tragic event if those two guys didn't happen to be here."Grant captured dramatic photos of the rescue, showing responders hoist one of the girls from the cliffs. In the end, Grant did get his sunset shot, just with an amazing cliff rescue in the foreground.Lifeguards remind folks that even in exposed reef areas, strong waves could come crashing at any moment. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Voters in San Diego County will have fewer places to vote in person for the 2020 Presidential Election, but officials say they've increased the opportunities people have to make sure their vote counts.On Wednesday, the county released the final list of 235 "Super Poll" locations, where people can vote in person. Every voter will be assigned to one of those polls.That's down from around 1,600 polling places during the primary."Certainly our world has been upended when it comes down to all things elections," says Michael Vu, the County Registrar of Voters.Vu told ABC 10News the county had to do fewer, larger polling sites to accommodate for social distancing required by coronavirus guidelines. But, he adds that voters will have four days to cast their ballot in person.Those Super Poll locations will be open on Oct. 31, Nov. 1, and Nov. 2 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. On Election Day, they'll be open from 7 a.m. - 8 p.m.Even with the extra days and hours for in-person voting, Vu says the best option for voters is to use the mail-in ballot that every registered voter in San Diego will receive around Oct. 6."We, in our county, have had a tradition and culture of voting by mail," says Vu, noting that 76.5% of all registered voters already signed up to be a permanent mail ballot voter.Vu says he has complete confidence that the post office will deliver ballots to voters and return them to the Registrar on time.For people who don't want to put their ballot in the mail, the Registrar is also setting up 126 ballot-drop off sites across the county. Those will be available starting Oct. 6.With 1.86 million registered voters in San Diego County, Vu says this year's election was like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. SAN DIEGO (KGTV)-- A San Diego mother says working from home during the coronavirus pandemic cost her her job. She claims she was fired because her kids were making noises in the background of her teleconference calls."We're letting you go," Drisana Rios said. That was what her Human Resources representative told her in a call earlier this month. She said she thought the call was supposed to help resolve her workplace problems. Instead, by the end of the call, she says she was fired.Rios says it all began in mid-March when her bosses at an out-of-state insurance firm told her to work from home and telecommute via conference calls. This was in response to the state's COVID-19 lockdown orders.Rios says all parents working from home received an email from the company's regional boss that read, "thank you for the incredible effort you are putting forth through these difficult times." She says it also said that they would avoid layoffs during the pandemic.Like many parents, Rios was unable to find childcare for her four-year-old daughter and one-year-old son. Despite juggling parenting and working from home, Rios claims she was able to complete all her tasks. She adds that her clients never complained about her kids being in the background of her conference calls. The only complaints, she says, came from her male, direct superior."I said, 'Do you want me to lock my kids in the room? My one-year-old in the room? Do you want me to do that?' And… he responded and said, 'Figure it out.'" Rios said.She says she tried to arrange calls to be during her children's afternoon naptimes but claims her boss continued to ignore and demean her."He would purposely overlap schedules," Rios said.Rios then reached out to her HR department and asked how she should deal with the harassment she says she was experiencing-- a move she says that backfired a week later."She was shamed for having children, so she first elevated it to Human Resources," Daphne Delvaux, Sr. trial attorney at Gruenberg Law, said. "Human Resources took the side of the abusive manager, and terminated her for complaining."Rios has since filed a lawsuit against both her direct boss and the company for Gender discrimination, Retaliation, Gender harassment, Failure to prevent gender discrimination, Negligent supervision, Intentional infliction of emotional distress, and Wrongful termination in violation of public policy.In her complaint, Rios claims her HR representative told her that the company was "...experiencing a reduced revenue due to COVID-19 and they were laying [the] plaintiff off as a result of the pandemic." But Rios believes this was retaliation."The fact that they tried to cover it up because I went to HR, it's obvious what they did," Rios said.ABC 10News reached out to the company headquarters for comment on this lawsuit.
