Breonna Taylor's mother, Tamika Palmer, requested a new special prosecutor to review her daughter's case. During a meeting Friday, the Kentucky Prosecutors Advisory Council voted not to approve her request.Tamika Palmer and her attorneys argue Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron did not accurately explain the law to the grand jurors, present evidence correctly, and perform the job bias-free.Which leads to their request of having a new prosecutor appointed to Breonna Taylor's case.While the Kentucky Prosecutors Advisory Council can replace a local prosecutor with the attorney general, the council noted they do not have the legal authority to replace the attorney general."No basis in case law or statute exists for the prosecutor advisory council to appoint a new, independent prosecutor as requested by Ms. Palmer," Chris Cohron, the Commonwealth's Attorney for the Eighth Judicial Circuit in Bowling Green.The council voted unanimously. As soon as the council made its decision, the people watching the virtual meeting spoke out, with one person saying, "You're wrong, and you know it."That's the end of the legal road for Breonna Taylor's family regarding state or criminal penalties. BELLEVILLE, Mich. — A Good Samaritan was placed in a bad situation on a metro Detroit highway. Now his close call is going viral on social media while also alerting motorists to beware and trust your instincts. It was around 10 p.m. on Sunday when John Hadyniak of Belleville, Michigan  was heading home driving down I-94. When he got near Belleville road, he saw a woman on the side of the road changing a flat tire. Hadyniak's first thought was to stop and give her a hand, then his red flag radar lit up like the Fourth of July. The trunk on the car was closed, said Hadyniak, who is also a mechanic, and he noticed there was no plate on the trunk of the car. "I noticed that there was no jack and she had a tire iron in her hand," Hadyniak said. "Things didn't add up. It was just a bad feeling."He listened to that gut feeling and pulled out a flashlight and shined it on the woman. "I put the flashlight on her when I got out of the car," he said. "And about 15 feet off the side of the road there was a guy laying in the grass. I hit him with the light. He got up and jumped in the car and took off down I-94"In that moment, Hadyniak thought of what could have transpired. Those "what ifs" are still swirling around in his head. "Worse case scenario, I could have got bopped in the head with that, laid dead on the side of the expressway," he said. "(They could have) robbed me, stole my car – everything. If I wouldn't have seen him, it would have been bad news."Hadyniak posted the phonies foiled plan on Facebook with a warning to folks to be smart and beware. BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A Florida woman has been arrested after she allegedly beat and strangled her newborn twins to death, claiming she didn't know she was pregnant before she gave birth. Rachael Lynn Thomas, 30, told law enforcement that she gave birth to the boy and girl newborns on the toilet, according to WFTV. She said that the infants later died. An autopsy report released on Tuesday revealed that there was more to the babies' deaths than Thomas' story.According to police, Thomas called 911 from her home on Sunday "in reference to an unresponsive newborn." Thomas said she left work that morning after feeling sick. When she got home, she says she went to use the restroom and gave birth on the toilet, according to reports.Police said Thomas cut the baby boy's umbilical cord with a pair of scissors, placed him inside a blue shirt and began "cleaning up the mess," according to the arrest warrant."Baby John Doe" was pronounced dead at the hospital.When investigators went to Thomas' home, they say they found the body of a newborn girl in the trash can in a carport. Police say that it appeared as though she had tried to conceal the body with trash. Detectives say that the infant's umbilical cord was wrapped around her throat and that an object was lodged in the back of her throat. "Baby Jane Doe" was pronounced dead at the scene.According to reports, Thomas claims she didn't know she was pregnant and said that she continued to have her period until this month.Detectives said that the newborn twins suffered severe blunt force trauma to their heads.Investigators said Thomas told them “they were both dead and she got scared,” according to WFTV.Thomas was arrested on Monday afternoon and charged with child neglect and one count of tampering with evidence. On Tuesday, the charges were upgraded to one count of first-degree murder, two counts of felony murder and two counts of aggravated child abuse. Thomas has two other children. The 1-year-old and 8-year-old are now in the care of a relative, Department of Children and Families officials said. 2137

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Five people, including two elementary school students, were arrested after police investigated online threats made against another student. The Bloomington Police Department began investigating after a Fairview Elementary School representative notified police about a threatening Instagram video on Feb. 17. The video showed two students making threats and showing an AK-47-type weapon. One of the boys in the video made threats toward a female student and her brother. He said the gun was real and the two people were going to get "lit up," police say.In the investigation, police learned the threats were made after an argument about a dating relationship between the parties. Police then went to a house to locate the weapon in the video. At the house, a woman, Laquita S. Perry-Leverston, 33, went to the trunk of a car, where she retrieved the weapon and a pistol. Both were BB guns, police say. After a warrant was obtained, police began searching the house. One person in the house, a 17-year-old boy, told officers they weren't going to touch him, according to police. He began resisting and was arrested by officers. The 17-year-old was handcuffed and placed into a patrol vehicle, where he tried to kick out a window and threatened to kill an officer, police say.Two adults, Paris R. Leverston Sr., 37, and Laquita, became upset when the 17-year-old was arrested. According to Bloomington police, "Attempts were made to explain to her the reason why, but both adults continued to be loud and disruptive." (KGTV) -- Authorities have identified the suspect who allegedly shot and killed a woman in Bonita on July 4.According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, Giovanny Rodriguez, 20, was arrested for the murder of 19-year-old Janessa Delvalle.The shooting happened on July 4 on the 5100 block of Cedarwood Road.Investigators say a fight broke out between several women in the parking lot of an apartment complex prior to the shooting.When deputies arrived, they say several people were seen performing CPR on Delvalle.
